Called Bob Reiss and made date for next Thursday at
2:30.
Rcd. Aug. PLAYTHINGS. Nothing of interest.
Going over reference material for MILL, THE JUNGLE GAME,
and ANAGRAMS for the article in [illegible words crossed out]
THE FAMILY CREATIVE WORKSHOP.
Played MANCALA with BB using part of an egg crate and lima
beans. Started with 4 in each hole. 1) played that any hole
could be emptied. Win by ending in hole previously holding 1
or 2. 2) Same, except that can only empty hole on own
side. If all empty opponent continues until some are sent
to empty side. 3) Same as 2, except that captures can
only be made on opponent's side.
Went over the pictures in the travel pamphlets Claude once
gave me, looking for pictures of 12 cities.
BB downtown and bought yarn for LASCA board.
Dave Horn gave me a copy of THE NEW GAME OF HUMAN LIFE
that he bought in Williamsburg, Va.
Laurie bought Dave a copy of TRI-TAC-TOE. I looked at the
rules. It is played on a 3x3x3 field. Variation 1) 2 play
and take turns placing marbles (it would be a good idea
to prohibit the first player from taking the center space).
When all spaces are filled score 1 point for each line
of 3. Variation 2) The first to make a line of 3 loses.
2 play. Variation 3) Again 2 play. Each has 14 mar-
bles of his color. A marble starts in lower left hand corner
of top level. A player in his turn either enters a marble
or moves one. Non-capture moves are one space
orthoganally. Capture moves are 1 space diagonally, but
only on the same level. Don't recall whether it takes
an extra turn to remove a marble that reaches the exit
space. One to bring the most marbles thru wins.
