To Mike Alber. Got a copy of GUINNESS GAME OF WORLD RECORDS. Price is a- bout $600. I asked if he had heard from the columnist in Florida. No.
Richard Moon is still writing regularly. He said that Roger Verhulst is still occasionally doing a piece on games. Took a copy of the 1975 column catalog.
To Fabio Coen. He gave me 2 copies of BEYOND TIC TAC TOE - outside of the 10 I get with the contract - and if I want more just ask, We also talked about my preparing a list of places to send copies for possible publicity. We discussed a follow up book to BEYOND TIC TAC TOE (which sold 1700 last week bringing the total to almost 20,000). Told him my ideas of 7/27, but forgot to tell him the name FUN FOR ONE. Ex- panded the letter game idea to allow for the three letter words and four letter words. Fabio definitely would like to use color with most of the "games." He'd like the book for the fall of '76 which means I have to have it finished by March. Arranged to get together in beginni during November to discuss my pro- gress.
As a book for '77 he'd like to do something like AGOG but with more juvenile games and color used in the diagrams. After lunch in a Japanese restaurant, Barbara Weinstein joined us to discuss my Bloomingdale's talk. She'll check blowing up a board for SPRINGER. Also supplying crayons, cardboard, and game sheets for playing in the audience. She'll keep me posted. After we left Fabio she introduced me to Francine Shillet and to Doris Bass for just a moment. While with Fabio told him that I got the AGOG copyright back and that Scribner's is the house that might be interested. He thought that Random House had approached them - but he wasn't sure.
To S.P.I. Howie Barasch gave me a game that was sent to them - unsolicited. It is SUMMER OLYMPICS by "21st Century Sports." Very Cheesy for the money they ask. Asked Redmund if all of my last column would get in. Probably. Omar DeWitt. He has moved to Elizabeth, N.J. and is working in the school system. He is working at S.P.I. for the summer. He said hello.
