August 1975 - Wednesday 13
225th day - 140 days to come
Rcd. a U.P.S. notice early in morning - saying they'd come again.
Later in afternoon delivered a package with THE LAST WORD
and JABBLE (from "New Approaches Inc.").
Rcd. the copyright release for A GAMUT OF GAMES from Random House.
Called Kenneth Heuer at Scribner's. On vacation this week.
Told secretary about it and she'll have him call next week. Told her
to thank him for the book he sent -
SIXTH BOOK OF MATHEMATICAL DIVERSIONS FROM SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN.
Rcd. the game STAR BATTLE - rules for a moderated game - by
T. Prestson.
Call from Felicia. She rcd. confirmation on the royalty split change
from K.A> Michaelson. Told her had mentioned it when I spoke to him
yesterday.
She is still after <y>Bob Johnson to find out what is happening with
THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS and FITTING & PROPER.
I asked her about our contract with Aladdin, concerning royalties on
TOTALLY, INTERSECTION, and PUSHOVER with Epoch. They are
split 50-50 she discovered when she looked at the contract.
She said that Alex Randolph, she hears, has been getting a lot of
publicity. I said I knew he was getting write-ups in Europe but
I don't know of any in this country. She didn't either.
She'd like to try RED LETTER with Aladdin when it gets back from
Hallmark. I suggested FOUR-ARMED BANDIT also. She said that
they want only strategy games - altho she tried to get them to
diversify.
Told her I finished the DAISY article and will bring it Thurs. If
she's not in, I'll drop it in the mail slot.
Call from Claude. Among other things, Anne saw something
in a magazine - a game HOW TO PICK UP SOMEONE IN A SINGLES BAR.
He didn't have any details - Anne does.
Played DOMINOS with dad, Ilka, and BB - with the player going
out scoring the dominos left in the other hands. Gave dad and
Ilka the double 6 set we played with.
(cont. from 8/15) [8/14]
Laurie Horn brought me a copy of DAISY (April '75) and
also the "Brownie Reader" (Nov. '74). It seems that my arti-
cle is about the right level.
