<br>August 1975 - Tuesday 5 | |||
<br>217th day - 148 days to come | |||
---- | |||
To Dollar to deposit $1.63 <u>AGOG</u> check. Got check for $1,500 for | |||
<u>Felicia</u> (receipt together with her letter I rcd. yesterday). | |||
<br>Sent 25¢ to <u>T. Preston</u> for the rules for <u>STAR BATTLE</u>; as advertised | |||
in <u>THE FLYING BUFFALO'S FAVORITE MAGAZINE</u>. | |||
<br>Call from <u>Fabio Coen</u>. Can't make it tomorrow. Changed it to 12:30 on 8/14. | |||
He asked me about "To Tell the Truth" and I gave him <u>Jean Boone</u>'s | |||
number and what she said the last time we spoke. | |||
<br>To S.P.I. <u>Howie Barasch</u> didn't have anything for me. | |||
<br>To <u>Bob Reiss</u>. We added "to the best of his knowledge" to clause 3. | |||
I asked whether he could give me an additional $300. No, he | |||
didn't even want to give the $1,500. Signed anyway. | |||
He'll call me next week about getting together to look at the | |||
mold for <u>THE HARRY LORAYNE MEMORY GAME</u>. | |||
<br>To <u>Felicia</u>. Gave her the $1,500 check. | |||
Looked at the 3M royalty statement. The money is all for do- | |||
mestic sales. The bulk is for <u>ACQUIRE</u>. <u>EXECUTIVE DECISION</u> made a | |||
little over $400. | |||
Felicia said that <u>Herb Roth</u> said that we'd make a lot of money | |||
from <u>TOTALLY</u>, <u>INTERSECTION</u>, and <u>PUSHOVER</u> thru "Epoch" in Japan. | |||
They are a fabulous company. | |||
Some of <u>Alan Newman</u>'s games are still very much in the | |||
running (at M.B. or P.??). The one problem she finds with him | |||
is that he is too prolific. He comes up with great gimmiks [sic] but | |||
doesn't put the time into making a really good game. He does do | |||
his homework and aims for a specific company. | |||
<u>Keith Tuggle</u> has been asking about seeing some of the paper | |||
and pencil games again. Nothing definite yet. | |||
She hears from 3M salesmen (which?) that sales are pick- | |||
ing up nicely. | |||
She showed me a game by Ralph C. Fisher, Sr. - <u>BUCCANEER'S ISLAND</u>. | |||
She only had the rules but basically it was a board game with | |||
a track around the edge. Players move by dice throw around | |||
this and space landed on tells him how he can move his ship. | |||
The center of the board is an ocean, probably divided into | |||
squares, with ports in the 4 corners and an island in the | |||
center. Object is to be first to sail to the island, change to | |||
a gold ship, and sail back to starting port. Other players | |||
can land on same space and take over the gold ship. Etc. | |||
We both agreed that it has been done. | |||
We went into <u>Herb Roth</u>'s and he again said how great "Epoch" | |||
was. They made a fortune in <u>PACHINKO</u>. | |||
Herb had a clipping from the 8/1 <u>POST</u> on wargaming. (Later | |||
I called BB and she got it out for me. Mentions of <u>AFRIKA KORPS</u>, | |||
<u>STALINGRAD</u>, <u>CHANCELLORSVILLE</u>, <u>PANZER LEADER</u>, <u>ANTIETAM</u>, <u>BORODINA</u>, | |||
<u>DON'T GIVE UP THE SHIP</u>, <u>Tom Shaw</u>, <u>DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS</u>, <u>1914</u>. | |||
