Called Martin Gardner. He has written an introduction to Pierre Berloquin's book and wants to send it to him for his comment. Martin asked for the latest address I have for Pierre. Told Martin that I hadn't heard from Pierre since he was in U.S. Asked Martin if he had looked at Alex Randolph's games yet. He still hasn't had a chance to even open them.
On WQXR heard another ad for DOUBLE DUMMY.
Wrote to John Hammond and John Walker asking how come I hadn't rcd. ROMAN CHARIOT RACING (which I said I probably would review in S&T), SEA STRIKE, GUERRILLA, TRIREME, DECLINE AND FALL.
Going over Don Turnbull's letter and issue #50 of ALBION pre- paratory to writing to him.
Rcd. A PLAYER'S GUIDE TO TABLE GAMES by John Jackson. Among many other games he mentioned the following of mine: MONAD, VENTURE in comparison with BILLIONAIRE, ACQUIRE in comparison with CARTEL, CARD BASEBALL with a mention of AGOG, SLEUTH with a comparison to CLUE, PATTON. Some others that I don't have are: BOTTOMS UP, THE PETER PRINCIPLE GAME, PRIME TIME, THE GOD GAME. Among the bibliography are: AGOG, GAMES ANCIENT AND ORIENTAL, BOARD AND TABLE GAMES FROM MANY CIVILIZATIONS, SCARNE'S ENCYCLOPEDIA OF GAMES. Long piece on MONOPOLY with variants. Also RISK and a variant. Rcd. a letter from Felicia spelling out the new arrangements on ACQUIRE, EXECUTIVE DECISION, BAZAAR, MONAD, VENTURE, SLEUTH, HOLIDAY, PATTON, MACARTHUR, and things I sell myself. Also a carbon of a letter she sent to K. A. Michaelson; she also sent a carbon to Keith Tuggle.
Rcd. a letter from the manufacturers of 1829. They'd like to see a copy of S&T. He mentioned the G&P review.

Herb asked how I was doing and I said not nearly as good as last year. He asked if I had anything with "Reiss" and I said only a piece of the action in their p&p games. Before going into Herb's, Felicia had asked me about MASTER MIND, which she heard is very big in England. Told her about Invicta and P. and about how it was played.
Played a little 500 RUMMY with Dad & Ilka.
