Rcd. a letter from Warren Buell. Among other things, he mentions G & P, POPULAR COMPUTING, and Martin Gardner. Sent the following clippings: New York TIMES article of 11/10/74 which men- tions me (have it already); WALL ST. JOURNAL article on MONOPOLY, ANTI-MONOPOLY, and Ralph Anspach (think I have it); Los Angeles Times article on ANTI-MONOPOLY; Los Angeles Times article on "Play"; Article in from COMPUTER DECISIONS on "When will a computer be world CHESS champion?"; Article on PASTA from Popular Computing (I believe this a follow-up from one I got from Martin Gardner); Article on FUTURIBLES from "The Futurist," also an ad for it; "Guide" for PRODUCTIVITY MANAGEMENT GAME by "Westinghouse Learning Corp."; Cartoon on war-gaming from "Punch" magazine.
Rcd. SIGNAL #83. "SDC" news is that CONFLICT magazine has been suspended: Games available are KHALKIN-GOL, BATTLE FOR HUE, BATTLE FOR JERUSALEM. "AH" news mentions "Origins I" and DIPLOMACY, WAR IN THE EAST, DUNGEONS & DRAGONS; also THE GENERAL, PANZERBLITZ, JUTLAND, TOBRUK. "Morningside" news mentions Al Nofi, VICKSBURG: THE WAR FOR THE WEST (Rand), BATTLE PLAN Mag. (Rand). "New games" lists: MTB (Tabletop Games), MERCENARY, EMPIRE (S. Bowden), WAR OF WIZARDS -with a rare- (TSR), MODERN BATTLES (S.P.I.), BATTLE FOR GERMANY (S.P.I.).

Called Ed Schiffman. Asked what the situation on INTERSECTION was and he was a little vaug vague. However he wants the 6x6 model returned. Told him I'd do it today. I asked how soon he'd like me to send him my rules changes. Also the solitaire changes for PUSHOVER. By Labor Day is certainly soon enough.
He asked when I would be reviewing the Aladdin games in G&P. Told him that I don't write regularly for them - it is S&T that I write for regularly. Told him that I have already covered BARRIER and TOTALLY, and TRIPPPLES before Aladdin took it over. He asked and I promised to send the two columns to him. I also said I'd try to get something in G&P. Told Asked him if Felicia's request to send me a review copy of BALI went thru. He doesn't know, but he'll send me one.
They are very busy trying to get their selling force in shape to push their present line - to the point where they are neglecting next year's line. This was originally supposed to add 6 new games, but they have cut it to 4.
