BB retyped a page of the <u>DARN CLEVER</u> rules. I finished the
diagram for <u>FREE FOR ALL</u>.
<br>To Boston Road to get the following repros [reproductions]: <u>DARN CLEVER</u> rules,
<u>FREE FOR ALL</u> rules (2 of each set of rules); <u>FOREIGN INTRIGUE</u> -
the Travel Board, the Headquarters Board, two cardboard pcs. [pieces]
onto which I rubber cemented the other equip't [equipment]; the missing
pages from <u>TRI-TACTICS</u>.
<br>The repros were not very good, but with some trimming
and inking in was able to make them presentable.
<br>Put the following in separate envelopes and sent them 1st class
airmail to Pelican: <u>DARN CLEVER</u> rules. <u>FREE FOR ALL</u> rules.
<u>FOREIGN INTRIGUE</u> rules and repros of the equip't - in a
clasp envelope.
<br>In looking at the <u>FOREIGN INTRIGUE</u> rules again I discovered
that I was incorrect on 7/10. The rules are correct as they are.


Rcd. [received] the following games from Lakeside: <u>ROYAL KISMET</u>,
<u>FOUR LETTER WORDS</u>, <u>GALLOPING GHOST</u>, <u>TILT</u>, <u>DOUBLE CROSS</u>.

Rcd. letter from <u>John Gollon</u>. He sent me rules for
<u>ORIENTAL WAR, THE GAME OF</u>, which he first saw mentioned in
two books: <u>CHESSMEN</u> (Harcourt, Brace and Co., 1937) and
<u>CHESS-EAST AND WEST, PAST AND PRESENT</u>.
<br>He asked me if I had <u>THE GAME OF WAR</u>, patented by <u>Hudson Maxim</u>,
and published by Wm. F. Drueke & Co. (I have the patent.)
Rcd. letter from <u>Graeme Levin</u>. Mentioned <u>A. J. Ainscough</u> - (No)
and <u>A BOOK OF SILUMATION GAMES</u> and <u>HAGGLE</u> - (Yes).
<br>No news on <u>ORGANISMS</u>.
<br>Mentioned <u>AGOG</u>, <u>Tony Mills</u>, and possible future book.
To Post Office. Sent registered letters with <u>FREE FOR ALL</u> and
<u>DARN CLEVER</u> to myself. $1.05 each.
<br>Sent two S.P.I. 1975 catalogs to <u>Walter Luc Haas</u> - air mail - $1.32.
In Mt. Vernon art supply bought three sheets of white
"Illustration Board" - 20" x 30" - for 75¢ each and two
green pencils for 38¢ each. Got 10% professional discount.
Call from <u>Felicia</u>. When <u>Dick Harris</u> was in he saw <u>INTERSECTION</u>
on the wall and said that an inventor named <u>Gold</u> had
brought in a game exactly like it to M.B. [Milton Bradley] Felicia asked if
I knew Gold. No. Gold, Dick told her, did a game for Parker [Parker Brothers] -
<u>THE LOST GOLD OF COYOTE CANYON</u>.
<br>Dick liked the packages of <u>PUSHOVER</u> & <u>TOTALLY</u> but said that
<u>INTERSECTION</u> didn't look like it was by the same people. I told
Felicia of <u>Ed Schifman</u>'s letter on <u>INTERSECTION</u>. She doesn't
