29 Sunday - June 1975
St. Peter and St. Paul, Apostles - 180th day - 185 days to come
At bazaar in Long Beach bought THE BANANA TREE GAME - for 75¢.
Wrote to Howard Thompson. Mentioned STELLAR CONQUEST, Richard Berg, THE SPACE GAMER; Victor Kay and AGOG.
Call from Art Tuite (Ruth Wilder's friend). The tentative name
of his game is WAR AND PEACE. It is played on a 9x9 field
using 16 pentominos - the 6 symmetrical pcs. [pieces] and 5 of the non-
symmetrical (don't know which he omitted) in each hand. As a puzzle
object is to place them on the field, leaving one blank space.
As a game object is be the last one to place a pc. (war) or to
cooperate so that 14 pcs. are placed on the field (peace).
Told him that it is interesting but that Parker put out UNIVERSE
and Springbok but out POLYO PENTOMINOES, so noone would look
at another game based on Polyominos. He understood and was
very pleasant. He will be out of town for the summer, but will
contact he when he is back.
