JUNE 1975 - TUESDAY 24
ST. JOHN, BAPTIST - 175TH DAY - 190 DAYS TO COME
Called Bob Gellman (and told him that I had been very tired yesterday). He has decided not to do the "20 Minute Games." Things are slow with the stores, at least they're very reluctant to buy. When he saws he has a new game they say that they already have games from Parker and Bradley [Milton Bradley]. Two years ago PATTON was different enough to sell. Last year WEEKEND IN VEGAS made it. And this year he thinks that CREATURE FEATURES will do it. He'd like something for this year. If he can think of a subject he'll have me do a game on it.
I told him about SPANS and he liked the idea of how cheaply he could put it out. He'll look at it when he gets back from a selling trip.
I asked about card games but he said he can't compete with companys like Edu Cards who colate by machine. He has to do it by hand.
The deal to sell HOLIDAY to the PX's has gone thru. Bob will get $16,000. which means $800 to be split up.
Bob hears that 3M is trying to sell their game division. Told him that I have been hearing these rumors for years.
He has seen some Itemation games on sale with a Cardinal pasteover.
Called Felicia. Told her that I had ideas for a book but won't be able to have an outline for her to bring in Thursday. She particularly likes the idea of games using cut up index cards. She said she is very busy with other projects, and that I should call her when I'm ready with the outline.
Call from Dave Greenwald. He is in town for a few days and would like to get together. I suggested Thurs. at his house, with Claude. Dave will call me tomorrow about it.
Called Claude and we finally made a tentative date for Friday, with Anne & BB.

CHIMAERA CHESS, KINGLET CHESS.
Rcd. an ad from "Horseman Dolls" for "Mouseketeers" - probably undoubtedly
through one of both of my trade mag. subscriptions. (Discarded.)
Call from Moses Goldman. he asked me if there has ever been a game TRAFFIC in the U.S. Checked and found that E.S. Lowe had put one out about 5 of 6 years ago. It has been discontinued in the U.S. but a German catalog I rcd. last year lists what I am pretty sure is the same game.
Moses says that there is ga a GAME that is popular in Israel
