JUNE 1975 - MONDAY 16
167TH DAY - 198 DAYS TO COME
At going out of business sale at Great Eastern bought two boxes of self stick labels and a package of 5 x 3 index cards.
Felicia called while I was out and I called back. She rcd. a royalty report from Aladdin for the 4th quarter (I think it is the first??). PUSHOVER - $202.30; INTERSECTION - $47.07; TOTALLY - $510. A letter from Shep Bentley said that they have every indication that the 2nd half of this year will be much better. She said again that in ten years he expects everybody to know Aladdin as the "game company."
She might show FOUR-ARMED BANDIT to Aladdin, but not before she tries it.
She saw a publisher (not Ace) who has heard of me and would like a book of games with no or simple equipment. Felicia has an appointment on 6/26 to bring him another outline and would like to bring him an outline for a book of mine - and she'll try for a big advance.
Told her I'd call her in about a week to set up a date to show her FOUR-ARMED BANDIT and, hopefully an outline.
She saw a clipping on PETROPOLIS in the TIMES this morning.
Notice about a package and went to the p.o. to pick it up. It was from Western Publishing with CHARGE IT!, THE GREAT AMERICAN AUCTION CARD GAME, HOCK SHOP, CASINO VEGAS.
Call from Claude. Date Thurs. at his house. Earl will be there too. Wald has given his GAME to John Lawless, who seemed to like it. A check for $4,000 should be sent to Wald soon, and another $4,000 if they decide to use the game.
Claude made some further changes in SUCCESS such as putting in some high amounts on each of the sides. These didn't work too well.
2nd call from Claude. In a flea marker near Wald's he saw a game THE MAIL ORDER GAME. He couldn't find out much about it, but it is less than $5 so I asked him to has Wald but it for me. The address is THE MAIL ORDER GAME, The Magiera Co., 501 Sunnyside Lane, Hopkins, Minn.
Claude made repro a repro of the TIMES article on PETROPOLIS,
to give to me.
SECOND PAYMENT OF FEDERAL INCOME TAX DUE.
