JUNE 1975 - SUNDAY 8
THIRD SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST - 159TH DAY - 206 DAYS TO COME

At a bazaar in Queens bought 75 very fancy metal buttons for $3.00.

Call from Claude. In connection with my saying that Parker's holding DON'T BLOW A FUSE so long was a good sign, Claude said that he had sent DUEL to P. in '41 and they held it for several months, then returned it saying the paper was short.

In B&N Claude saw a book - A PLAYER'S GUIDE TO TABLE GAMES by John Jackson. It has reviews of many of my games.

Claude has a new game - tentative title MUGGER & MUGGIE, which Claude thinks would be just right for the Hasbro gimmick (see 6/5). Each player has several agents which move around getting "Weapon Cards." When next to each other the new agent can threaten the other, demanding a card or cards. The other can give in or fight. Each chooses a card that that agent has and simultaneously expose them. There is a DIVIDE AND CONQUER relationship so that the highest card doesn't automatically win. After collecting cards an agent can try to open the safe. Claude envisioned each weapon card having a combination on it. I suggested a single number on each card so they have to be collected to get a combination. An agent gets one try and if the alarm goes off he is dead. With a limited number of possible combinations this would be a[n] interesting decision - just when to try the safe. (Rough idea.)

Claude would like to try the game. Maybe we'll go there this Thurs.

Wrote up PAYDAY and COLORATION for column.
