JUNE 1975 - MONDAY 2
153RD DAY - 212 DAYS TO COME

Call from a secretary at Scribner's. Ken Heuer, because of the letter from Martin Gardner, would like to see a copy of AGOG. Told her that I'd bring one in sometime this week and, if possible, talk to Ken for a few minutes.

Call from Phil Orbanes in answer to my call. Told him that I have gone over the SLY material. There is no hurry so I'll drop it off when I am in the neighborhood. If I want to talk to Phil I'll have to check in advance.

Called Al Richter and made a date for 6/21.

(cont. from 6/3) [6/3]

Rcd. letter from A.J. Ainscough. He'd like to use my p&p games - HOLD THAT LINE, etc. - without payment, but with acknowledgment.

Rcd. letter from Haar Hoolim. Enclosed rules for another Orda game - HIDEAWAY. Discusses HIDEAWAY, ARROWS, UP WITH THE KING, DOUBLE, [ILLEGIBLE STRIKEOUT] ON GUARD, THERE AND BACK, ONE-TWO-THREE GO!, Dr. A.S. Fraenkel, Robert Abbott, G&P, PLOY, CHECKERS, EPAMINONDAS, Martin Gardner, CHESS.

Call from Earl Perel, ostensibly [illegible strikeout] to suggest my living in Ireland since he just learned that creative people don't have to pay any taxes there. Told him that the way royalties are coming in this year it doesn't much matter.

He still hasn't heard from Parker on DON'T BLOW A FUSE. I said the longer it takes, the better. HE heard that Parker had once offered only 1/2% royalties for a language game. I said that I had never heard anything other than 5%.

I mentioned DARN CLEVER as being quite inexpensive to produce. He has a friend who had had a pleasure boat engine business, but was bought out by a partner. He is looking for a business to get into and Earl with suggest games. I said that I would tell his friend not to go into games and Earl said he would tell his friend that I am a pesamist (spelling?).

Earl would like to get together to play games. I'll call him next week.
