24 Saturday - May 1975
114th Day - 221 Days to Come
At "Two Guys" near Lakewood bought ON GUARD for $1.66 plus tax.
Played three games of DARN CLEVER with Phil Laurence. He won 2
and liked it a lot.
With Annette & BB too, played 4-hand FOUR-ARMED BANDIT, using the
holders. It worked O.K.
Played a second time using the dice. With a 7 can take any card,
and if not at the end of an arm it is replaced at once.
With a double use the chosen card on an opponent's holder. This didn't
work out at all. Later decided that a double allows a player to
take a card for himself and then, if he wishes, to take another
for an opponent- or visa versa. This was somewhat more
meaningful, but still not great.
At home decided to try the following "Lotsa luck" version
next time: A 7 allows taking any card. A double loses the
chance to take a card, but chips are collected according to
the number - as a consolation.
