WHITSUNDAY - PENTECOST - 138TH DAY - 227 DAYS TO COME

Phil's sister Lily mentioned that there is a big adult game store in Princeton N.J., with space to play games there.

Before going to bed tried to get rid of some bubbles under the contact that was part of the cover art work for FOUR-ARMED BANDIT, and ruined it. Put on a new piece, but it was a little worse than before.

like his FACE OFF) and AIRLINE. The game store in Princeton came up (or possibly Steve Brodie gave me this info) and Earl said that it was going out of business. But a new store is trying to set up a similar operation.

- G&R. They don't have LAND GRAB or FACE OFF yet. Nothing new in games.

- Reiss. Nothing new in games. Met Tom Shaw and Eric Dott and spoke to them awhile. To get the A.H. [Avalon Hill] games I want I should write to Don Greenwood.

- Field. Only standards.

- New Approaches. Looked at JABBLE. Letters are on jig-saw pcs. (but didn't get how they fitted together. When a letter is placed score for every word formed in every direction - including diagonal. (Rough idea.) Looked at THE LAST WORD. (About) 32 letter tiles are placed face up between the two players. Each in turn takes a word formed with tiles. The player taking the last word, even if some tiles remain, loses.

A gal - didn't get her name - took my card and said she'd send me review copies of the two games.

- Pager. WHAT's MY NAME, a "photo identification quiz game," is the only new game.

- Cardinal. Standards.

- Mag-Nif. No new games.

- Skor-Mor. Looked at BETCHA BALL. 1 brass and 7 silver balls are enclosed in a container with a stem. The silver balls [drawing of balls into a stem] fit into the stem but the brass doesn't. The player rotates the balls and sees how many settle into the stem before being stopped by the brass. That is his "point." He wins if he gets this again - but I didn't get info on what loses.

They now have THE UNGAME in a bookshelf version. I asked and was told that Four Generations would still be selling the flat box to the mass merchandisers.

Looked at DR. LIVINGSTON I PRESUME. Players move around the board picking up clues to his whereabouts. (Rough idea.) The clues are behind "windows" that are covered by cardboard flaps.

They fellow said that YESTERYEAR was the 3rd best selling game in the country but then changed that to one of the best selling. SECRET TELEGRAM is a game of setting up telegrams in code and then solving each other's telegrams. (Rough idea.)

Took rules for ZAP and there is complete info.

Took a catalog which doesn't have the latest games. Among
