26 SATURDAY - APRIL 1975
116TH DAY - 249 DAYS TO COME

At a "Farmer's Market" in N.J. saw a game CROSSWISE (Roylon). Didn't look inside, but apparently it is a rub-off plastic board with a crossword puzzle diagram. Players race to write in as many words as they can using different colored grease pencils.

Rcd. an envelope from England with the following: Letter from A.R. Mills asking if I could enlarge AGOG, or come up with a new book for publication in two or three years.

Letter from Ray O'Farrell, editor of "Thomas Nelson (Australia) Ltd." saying that one of his authors is interested in the review of "Mathematical games" mentioned in the preface. His name is [drawn bracket] Mr. Peter Carr
[drawn bracket] 3 Abelia Street
[drawn bracket] East Doncaster
[drawn bracket] Victoria, Australia

To the Bredehorn's in the evening. Brought a copy of THE SIX PACK---. He showed me a new puzzle of his he calls HEY STACK! Four cubes have letters on their faces, set at a slope with the idea that they can be used in two positions, such as [drawing of two angled letter B's] but not turned upside down. The object is to pile the cubes so that words are formed on the four sides. (This was merely trial & error.) Another PUZZLE uses 9 cardboard [drawing of cardboard squares] squares with parts of words. On one side there is one letter on each part. On the other side two letters in each part. Object is to fit them into 3x3 squares with either all matching edges forming 2-letter, 4-letter, or 3-letter words - the last requiring 4 of one side and 5 of the other side. (Solved them all.)

Played FOUR-ARMED BANDIT and they said that they liked it. (But not enough to play a second time.)

Showed George the SLY SOLITAIRE puzzle using a deck of cards. He'll work at it another time.

They are making up crossword puzzles and getting $15 each.

from pile to pile as long as two areas match. Win by getting all 5 primes placed.

Dave had all 4 men sign a statement about the activities tonight. So I copied the statement and had it signed. (Started a Dave Greenwald folder.) [Started 4/25]
