APRIL 1975 - MONDAY 21
PATRIOTS' DAY (MAINE & MASS.) - 111TH DAY - 254 DAYS TO COME
Rcd. G&P #36. Article by Bob Abbott on "clarity" in games; mainly about EPAMINONDAS - with mentions of STAY ALIVE, PLOY, ULTIMA, L-GAME, WARI. Long article on SKAT. Rules for BUNGO (a dart game). Rules for a reader's game FREEZE. Ad for THOUGHTWAVE. Rules for SPROUTS. by Eric Solomon. Forum letter asking about two Indian card games: DASAVATARA and GANJIFAH. Gamesviews of THOUGHTWAVE, CONTEXT, INFINITY. and DISCOVERING BACKGAMMON by R.C. Bell.
Watched "Blankety Blank" on TV - the program Dave Greenwald is working for. Not very good.
Call from Bob Gellman. Two men in from England who have a large game store. They have heard about me from Don Turnbull and others and would like to meet me. I spoke to one of them and ended up inviting them here for supper Thurs. evening. Their names are John Walker and John Hammond and their store is "Skytrex."
Bob asked if I had rcd. the check he sent. Not yet.
Answered the answer question from A.T. Rehm on ACQUIRE.
Call from Phil Orbanes. The people at Amway have played all the SLY 6 games except GATEWAY and like them all. They are particularly wild about EMPIRE. They like the name SNIGGLE and are changing GET THE JUMP to SNIGGLE.
They want a specific set up puzzle for SOLITAIRE SLY, with a solution. Then the random set up can be given. Phil wants such a puzzle from me, preferably by the end of the week.
I asked about the writeups on INFINITY, REALM, and 6 PACK. 300 words - rather than 500 as he originally stated - will be enough - that is 300 words each. I'll get them to him by 5/5.
Sorting jewels, etc. till noon and then till after 1 at night. Finished and put them in two boxes of north wall of basement.

The Israeli, or possibly he is a native Hassidic, came in and I met him (but didn't get his name). When he heard that I was an inventor he asked, if I have anything that can be done using plastic - but not necessarily all plastic. Showed him SPACE BOXES (Felicia broke off one of the towers trying to get it out of the box) and he was interested, including my sketch for a mold. We'll arrange a meeting next week for his plastic designer to take a look at it. His company, in Brooklyn is "Plastic Creations" (or maybe "Creative Plastics.")
