APRIL 1975 - SUNDAY 13
SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER - 103RD DAY - 262 DAYS TO COME
Changed the BANDITO board to group the symbols for easier location of a particular symbol.
Took it with me to Weir meeting, but didn't play. Played with Horn's in the evening using the rule that there is no restarting of jackpots. It worked good, except that the last jackpot built up to a point that whoever won it was assured of the game. Decided to stop any chipping once only one jackpot is left. To give some meaning to the other cards decided to allow collecting a bonus for three on the same symbol, even when both jackpots for that symbol are dead. At start of game put 1 red, 1 green, and 1 white chip in each jackpot. This was a little messy; I'll use 1 blue instead.
Called Dave Greenwald to tell him of date 4/25 with Claude. He'll check with Eric and call me back.
Called Claude to find out how Anne's ankle was.
(cont. from 4/14) [4/17]
To Cadaco for list price of SHERLOCK HOLMES - abt. $4.00. The secretary didn't know if they'll be doing THE ECONOMY GAME.
To see Bob Gellman. He is now a partner, with Stan & Art, in Athol.
There is a good chance that the army PX's will be taking about 5000 copies of HOLIDAY.
I mentioned to Bob that the advance last year had been for
MACARTHUR, not for WASHINGTON. He asked if I had spent about
five hours on WASHINGTON. I told him at least 20. He asked if
$100 would be enoug all right and I said I'd leave it completely
up to him.
He said that Itemation was out of business, as was Kontrell (which I already was pretty much aware of). Itemation had a "game cube" - with 6 different boards on the faces. He thinks it is a good item and would like me to put one out. He'll order one from Sears and when he gets it we'll get together and discuss the 6 faces.
Played 500 RUMMY and CASINO with dad and Ilka.
While I was out Dave Greenwald called and confirmed that he and Eric will be here on 4/25. He wants me to call with directions.
When I spoke to Bob Gellman, the CHESS variation by Brady,
NOVINKA came up. He had been thinking again of putting it out,
but when Bobby Fischer didn't play the match he decided agains
against it.
