4 FRIDAY - APRIL 1975
94TH DAY - 271 DAYS TO COME
Looked up the material I had on TOGETHERNESS and found most of the rules on 9/27/73 and 9/1/74.
Looking at other possibilities for Edu-Cards and decided on PAIR-OFF, OVER 'N OVER, and INVASION.
More work on the board for THE WINNING TICKET.
BB and I met Claude and Anne in Flushing for supper.
Claude gave me the April '75 copy of SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN, and refused to take money for it. I took Martin's column and some other clippings and returned the rest to him.
I asked about their meeting with Lawless of Hasbro on Weds. He didn't go for Claude's I PACK MY TRUNK or for Wald's GAME, which came as a shock to Wald.
To the Flushing Flea Market. At "Bob Table #33" they had 3 games:
- DUIT seems to be a book of various small crossword puzzles with some other sheets. (Didn't get the details.)
- TALLY IT. A simple game. A disk with a number is faced. Players look for two number cards in their hand that produce the proper product/ (Rough idea.) Also mentions ADD IT.
- KAN-U-GO. A card word game which I believe was published in the U.S. At home confirmed that I had a copy - of the British edition which seems to have more complete rules. Bob said he had other games at home and I took his card to call next week and check on their names.
At Claude's house saw a copy of the original INFINITY, which he bought in a thrift shop for $1.00. Told him that I had redone the rules and that I'd try to get him a copy. Also told him that I'd bring a set of THE SIX PACK-----.
Claude picked up a book "Self-Organizing Systems - 1962" for 10¢. It is highly technical and I doubt if it will be of use to either of us. But I agreed to hold onto it for Claude.
(cont. from 4/5) [4/7]
THE PENINSULAR WAR, BUST, FEUDAL CLANS, RAILWAY RIVALS, RAILWAY RIVALS (Handbook), MAKAHIT, OIL DISTRIBUTORS - BRITISH ISLES (which they call "British Isles Oil Depot Game"). Some second-hand games for sale: AMOEBA, CONFRONTATION [Philmar], POPULATION [Urban Systems], SPECULATE, STOCKBROKER. Some wooden games for sale: BACKGAMMON, MANCALA (WARI), NINE MEN'S MORRIS. FANORONA, GO, SOLITAIRE, TOWER OF HANOI, "Notice Board" mentions, among other things, that a game of OPEN MONOPOLY is being formed - it was mentioned in O.&W. #1. [started 4/7]
