17 MONDAY - MARCH 1975
ST. PATRICK'S DAY - 76TH DAY - 289 DAYS TO COME

Call from Felicia. FOCUS is refused by Western. Fairly long letter explaining that Western is not at present strong enough in games to put a game of this type across, unless they put a fortune into advertising.

There is still no hurry on her looking at GAME INVENTOR'S KIT. I'll call next Monday about setting a date. She doubts very much if she'll do anything with POWER PLAY.

Packaged TAKE-A-WORD and PROFIT & LOSS in a jiffy bag and took it to Post Office. The guy wouldn't insure it that way. Repackaged it in corrugated and went back. Sent it airmail parcel post - insured for $100.00 ($2.00 fee.) Earlier got repros of the rules for both games at Post Rd. (68¢

Rcd. TOYS (March '75). Nothing new.

Rcd. NOST-ALGIA (#179). Phil Cohen has piece on META-TIC-TAC-TOE. Also describes THE L-GAME. "Chess Variants" gives rules for RACING KINGS and a variant of ALPHABETICAL UNCRASH. Ralph Betza gives a rule change for COLUMBIA CANNON CHESS (CCC). Also some games of TRANSPORTATION CHESS (TRANSCHESS). Another page gives the rules for LASKA (no by-line to this article).

Wrote to Ed Schifman about the game names he asked about: COURIER - mentioning COURIER CHESS, SYNTACTICS, NEXUS, AVANT - mentioning AVANTE; QUEUE. Mentioned PROFIT & LOSS, TAKE-A-WORD, and INTERSECTION.

Pretty well worked out three more of the SLY 6 games: SOLITAIRE SLY, GET THE JUMP, and BLOCKADE.

cards into complete groups of a family - which can be between 1 to 4 cards to a group.

Dave asked my ideas about selling these games. His idea was to try Aladdin and Parker first and I said that was about the only places. He knows who to contact at each, having made the rounds at Toy Fair.

Dave thought that the TOTALLY game he saw was Claude's set, but then after asking [illegible strikeout] Claude about it I realized that it was the one I gave to the Pelham Burn's. Didn't get Dave's opinion of the game.

Claude gave me the copy of LUCKY CHESS he bought for me. Wouldn't take the money (25¢ [illegible strikeout], I believe).

In playing Wald's [illegible strikeout] GAME noticed that he used some of the tiles from the ACQUIRE set I gave him as a markers.
