MARCH 1975 - FRIDAY 14
73RD DAY - 292 DAYS TO COME

To Phil Orbanes for a few minutes. I will bring him the game for SLY 6 next Friday. Told him a little about my ideas so far. Told Phil I'd like $1,000. O.k.

To date with Manny Lefkowitz and Harry Lorayne. Both very pleasant. Harry suggested that the equipment could be used for the old party game in which the host(ess) puts a number of objects on a tray. The guests study it and then one or two are removed and the remainder rearranged. Then try to remember what was removed. He also suggested numbering the spaces of the board to use a new "peg" system he is working on where the object looks like the number. 1 would be a pencil; he suggested a brassiere for 3 and I suggested granny glasses. I also suggested having the spaces numbered irregularly so that they would not be in the normal order that objects might be remembered.

Harry suggested a spinner with numbers from 1 to 16. to be used for picking an object to be identified, rather than having the players specify one. I preferred my original idea but suggested a variation where are all players try to identify the number spun, first getting the tile.

We all agreed on THE HARRY LORAYNE MEMORY GAME as the preferred name.

I asked Harry if he'd discussed the royalty split with his business manager. Yes, and he won't take less than 80% of the 10%. Manny said he'd try to squeeze out a little more for me.

After Harry left Manny seemed to want to talk. He is concerned about new Bookshelf games for next year. About the only thing under consideration is SUSPENSE, and I said Andy Luftig's game. Manny said that all he knows is that it comes thru "Gamut of Games."

They are dropping a lot of their present Bookshelf games, among others THE CITIES GAME, BLACKS & WHITES, AIRPORT, LIE, CHEAT & STEAL is doing the best and 1776 is quite good. Told him that I'd think of things for him to look at.

Bought some Jiffy Bags at Summit Stationary.

To S.P.I. Spoke to Redmund. All of my column for S&T #49 was used. #50 is due in about 6 weeks. (Since it was raining and I didn't have my flight bag, didn't take any games.)

To Random House. Gave the diagrams [illegible strikeout] and illustrations to Jane Feder and Fabio Coen He asl also called Janet Townsend to look at them. They all seemed satisfied.

Showed NO WAY to Fabio and he liked it. He had repros made and he'll investigate the possibilities. Told him that I had other solitaire ideas.

I told Fabio that now that I have paid what I owe on AGOG I'd like the American rights back. He said that I didn't have
