11 TUESDAY - MARCH 1975
70TH DAY - 295 DAYS TO COME

Rcd. an envelope from David Gwyn Watts with OILD DISTRIBUTORS BRITISH ISLES.

Rcd. letter from Walter Luc Haas. He rcd. - at this time - one of the packages of S&T I sent to him. He also rcd. PATROL, STARFORCE: ALPHA CENTAURI, and STRATEGY I. He is waiting for WORLD WAR II and WOODEN SHIPS & IRON MEN. He rcd. KRYPTO, CONFIGURATIONS, and TRI-NIM. Mentions AUSGETRICKST, DIPLOMACY, AIRPORT, PHILATELY, my writing for EUROPA, SPIELBRETT GLOBAL WAR, Howie Barasch, MOVES, NAPOLEON AT WATERLOO, SIXTH FLEET.

Called Ed Schifman. Told him about the "B1" in the PUSHOVER Diagram 2 (see 3/8). He won't bother changing it. Mentioned that the smaller tiles make aligning for pushing a line more difficult. He said that that was the best they could do. I said that I'd work on a meaningful solitaire version, but he didn't seem too interested.

Told him about my idea for double and tripple scores for the larger INTERSECTION. There is I'm to write up the rules and send them to him with the set. (But can't remember when I said I'd do it.) Told him I rcd. the "Special Document" but that is still the old version. It will be changed.

Told him I'd send PROFIT and TAKE-A-WORD to him this week. I said that I brough the various points to his attention just in case it might be helpful, but certainly not to bug him. He said he understood, and that I should call him anytime.

Made a board for TAKE-A-WORD with raised cardboard pcs. as shown to keep the letter [drawings of pieces] tiles in place. Put a circular pc. of cardboard on the bottom to facilitate turning the board.

Call from Fabio Coen. In connection with publicity for BEYOND TIC-TAC-TOE! he wanted some info on my published games.

This made me think of Jean Boone of "To Tell the Truth." Called her and she said that just last night they had been talking about me, and decided that I just didn't fit the format. Told her that my new book would definitely be out in October. She said to have a copy sent ASAP and they'll discuss it again.

Call from Wald. He wanted info on where to sell his games and I gave him very general info, but not specifics - since this is Felicia's stock in trade.

When Wald spoke to Bob Gellman he learned that Howard Wexler he learned had been around trying to sell some of his and Claude's games, but implying they were Wexler's own.
