FEBRUARY 1975 - SUNDAY 16
FIRST SUNDAY IN LENT - 47TH DAY - 318 DAYS TO COME

At a bazaar in Washington Heights bought 43 egg-timers for $3.90; a wooden assembling puzzle - very easy - for 15¢; and 10 pads for about $1.

For column finished BEAT THE MARKET, then wrote up 6 PACK OF PAPER & PENCIL GAMES, THE, THE OLD SHELL GAME, and state started BATTLEWAGON SALVO GAME.

BB found an article in BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS (Jan. '74) on homemade games with some nice pictures. (Filed in '75 Misc.)

TIMES had an article on Toy Fair. (Filed in '75 misc.)

Called Claude. Nothing specifically about games.

Call from Graeme Levin. I mentioned LOA as a possibility for him to sell in Europe. He'd like to play ORGANISMS again on Thurs.

(cont. from 2/17) [2/17]

LIAR'S BLUFF - A new deck of cards with 6 games. Didn't get details. He'll send me a review copy.

SHORT STUD SHORT DRAW - Another set of 6 games with the new deck.

1776 POKER GAME - A third set of 6 games with the new deck. (Actually the above 3 sets seem to have the same games, just listed in different orders.)

COLOR-SPOT DICE GAME - 2 regular dice and one with 6 different colors. Play is similar to POKER DICE. The colors have a rank, then the number total is considered within a color.

BANK BUSTER - One regular die and one with 6 different colors. The 36 combinations are placed in a ROULETTE type layout, which allows for betting on different combinations. The odds are "true" - without a bank edge.

1776 CRAP GAME - Three dice, each with 2 red, 2 white, and 2 blue faces. The possible bets are 2 of a specific color - 9 to 1; 3 of a specified color - 25 to 1 (true odds would be 36 to 1); Red-White-Blue 4 to 1, if allowed to ride for a second time - 17 to 1, if allowed to ride for a third time - 76 to 1. Took a folder and price list. (Filed in '75 Misc.)

- Novus. Children's things based on electronics. Took an ad sheet. (Later learned from Jerry D'Arcey that this is the company he did consultation work for.)

- Met Felicia. She met Keith Tuggle and had a long talk withhim. 3M lost money on the games last year. They want "fun" games now - and my games aren't "fun." She will meet up with "Warren Paper Products" tomorrow.

- At S.H. met Wald trying to drum up some consulting business. Henry Pelham Burn was making the rounds with him.

To Fifth Ave. Bldg.

- Avalon Hill. Met Tom Shaw on my way there and spoke to him in the lobby. Told him that I will probably doing a column for G&P and will be including war games. I asked, and he'll send me THE THIRD REICH and 1776. But he doesn't want any publicity on the mail-
