13 THURSDAY - FEBRUARY 1975
44TH DAY - 321 DAYS TO COME

Called Fay and set up a date with Fabio Coen for 2:30 tomorrow. Working on the illustrations for THE ART OF GAMES all day and into the night. Also rewrote the introduction. BB did the typing. About 2 p 2 a.m. I dictated the material on for the "Author's Questionaire" and she typed it in.

Call from Felicia. Date tomorrow postponed till 10 a.m. She heard from Bob Johnson. FOCUS ended up very low on the test-marketing; but he still likes it. Felicia will try Western Printing. Told her that FOCUS will be on the cover of the new edition of SIXTH BOOK OF MATHEMATICAL DIVERSIONS FROM SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN, THE.

In talking about Alan Newman's games, I asked about LONG DISTANCE and she said that Mike McCarthy of Parker had taken it on 2/10. I asked about FOREIGN INTRIGUE. He wasn't interested in it.

of the book.

I gave Fabio the "Author's Questionnaire" and Fay ran me a repro. I left my copy of the contract so that the advance could be changed from $2,200 to $2,100.

I mentioned that the next book would be on solitaire games and Fabio was very interested. Told him about NO WAY and I'll bring it in the next time I come.

Took my father's translations of BORSE, LINGUA, CRISTALLO, MAXO-MINO, COMBINATO, WORDL, ATTACKE, PHALANX, SINGLE.

Left the following to be translated: CIACK: SI GIRA, BUSINESS, ALTA FINANZA, GUARDIE E LADRI, PICCOLE DONNE & MASTER. Didn't give him AUTO MARKET since I thought a page was missing. Later discovered that it wasn't.

During day BB gave Mikie THINK-A-DOT to play with and the two marbles were missing. Couldn't find any that worked right.

Rcd. a check from Reiss Games, for 1974, for VEGAS 13, WORDPLAY, NINETACTOE, DAM-IT!, and CHINESECHEK. - $635.70.

Rcd. a rather curt letter from Harley Sachs about POLICE STATE.

Played some PUSHOVER with BB. The rules were changed to allow moving a single pc. even tho a chain pushover was available. It doesn't seem to hurt the game.
