JANUARY 1975 - FRIDAY 17
BENJAMIN FRANKLIN BORN 1706 - 17TH DAY - 348 DAYS TO COME

At MAS dept. store at Piazza Victor Emanuel II (spelling?) bought CRIME and CACCIA AL LEOPARDO for a total of 9,300 L. (The first was marked 7,900 L. and the second 3,700 L. - but there was a 20% reduction.)

At home found that one card was missing from CRIME. The box for CACCIA AL LEOPARDO was marked "Giochi Milton Bradley" and "Editrice Giochi." A small catalog for "Editrice Giochi" listed a number of games including, among others, IL GIOCO DEL WEST, SCARABEO (SCRABBLE), CACCIA AL LEOPARDO, JAZZI (YAHTZEE), and MONOPOLI.

Rcd. another notice from U.P.S. The[y]'ll try again Monday. (Discarded.)

Rcd. a letter from Bob Gellman with a photocopy of a letter with some questions on the MACARTHUR game.

Rcd. a second package from "Editions Robert Laffont" with LE DERNIER MOT, LES BLINDES, and LES FUGITIFS.

- Parker. Randy Barton not in. Made an appointment for 3 in P.M.

- Lakeside. Spoke to Robert Kurek. He'll send me the following: ROYAL KISMET (didn't get any details); FOUR LETTER WORDS (see catalog for details); TILT (see catalog for details); DOUBLE CROSS; GALLOPING GHOST. Players all write a letter and then the pads are rotated one player and another letter is added by each - etc. Letters can be added in any position. (Asked him to just send rules for this.); HAUNTED MANSION GAME (see catalog) 6 - I believe - wheels are geared so that they all turn together. When they are switched 1/4 turn the paths are changed, and also cardboard figures can knock over tokens which are sent to a dungeon. (He said he'd send it altho I didn't ask for it.)

- Hasbro. Spoke to John Lawless. Took his card and I'm to write to him in about 2 months to remind him to send me the following: POWER BROKER (which is Wald's), WALL STREET, SPELLBOUND (which Howard Wexler told me was his - but I didn't get the details), DOUBLE DEALER (which is Claude's), and THE GREAT ESTATE. (I suggested his just sending me the flat parts of the boards and the equipment if it would be easier. No.)

- Aurora. Spoke to Jeff Rochlis. PURSUIT and SHIFTY CHECKERS are out; they have left this field.

- Jack Robbins & Assoc. (Room 1001, 1107 Broadway.) They have decided not to handle INFLATION and don't know who, if anyone, is.

Met Jerry D'Arcey and he took me for lunch at Chock Full of Nuts. Then to Press Room, meeting Dorothy Machado Wood on the way. She is an inventor. The last thing she had of any importance was an action game. Possibly HIP FLIP (but I am not sure). She is a friend of
