appointment. Said I'd come back to look at them (but didn't). Tiffany said to contact him in April for review copies.

- Parker. Spoke to Randy Barton for a few minutes. Asked if there was any activity on the "Parker Game Museum." Not with the present economy. He was waiting for the Chairman of General Foods and handed me over to one of the salesmen who showed me the following: GUINNESS GAME OF WORLD RECORDS - Move around board and when land on different spaces have opportunities to break records in throwing certain results on dice, or bouncing a small ball into a container, etc. (Rough idea.) THE MAGNIFICENT RACE. There are 4 different means of transportation and players try to get "advantages" in as many as possible (how?). Periodically there is a race and each player places a marble into a spinner device. "Advantages" allow the placing of one or more additional marbles. The roulette type spinner is spun and then the marble that settles in a hole in the base gives that player a move of 3 spaces. The second goes two and the third one. There is one black marble belonging to "Dastardly Dan" and it is possible for Dan to win. (Rough idea.) PAY DAY - simply a question of earning money and getting bills as you make it thru the month - but the salesman said it was very popular in Canada. TENNIS - seems simple but pleasant. LET'S SEE YOUR LICENSE - similar to LIAR'S POKER.

Back to Felicia. Tom Mason of Whitman and Alan Newman were there looking at Alan's games. Tom wanted THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE, TRAVEL AGENT, HARD HAT (card version) all sent. WIDGET was the only one he didn't want.

She told him that FOCUS - one of my best games - is now free. He said that he must have had some slot for it when he wrote last year. He'll check on it when he gets back to the office. I told him of FOCUS being on the cover of Martin Gardner's latest book.

Tom noticed TOTALLY on the wall and said there is a German number game called TOTAL. He didn't know the details.

Felicia showed KOO KOO KONSTRUCTIONS, QUICKSAND (which I did most of the explaining on), ESCAPE, LIFE SAVER, and mentioned other puzzles in the series, TORTS - THE GAME OF SUIT AND COUNTER SUIT, ZIGGURAT, LUXURY LINER, and SPEED DASH!! - none of which he was interested in.

Then Felicia and Alan walked away, leaving me to show SHAPE AND SHATTER, FOREIGN INTRIGUE, and THE WINNING TICKET myself. He didn't want any sent. He asked some questions about the last one, but didn't seem to get the idea of it.

Back to Press Room for my coat and took another copy of the Aladdin "Fun and games Press Kit."

Picked up TOYS TRADE NEWS (Tuesday). Article on "Novus" and
