JANUARY 1975 - TUESDAY 7
7TH DAY - 358 DAYS TO COME

Rcd. THE GENERAL (Nov. - Dec. '74). Long article on PANZERBLITZ, with counters for a variation, PARABLITZ. [illegible strikeout] "Replay" of ORIGINS OF WORLD WAR II, with a variant called ORIGINS BOURSE. Suggested games for feedback comment: NUCLEAR WAR, TRAFALGAR, ARMOR, SQUAD LEADER, STAR CONQUEST, STAR TROOPER, LEGION, FANTASIA, DAS AFRIKA KORPS, STREETS OF MOSCOW, NAPOLEONIC EUROPE, VIETNAM, CIVIL WAR TACTICAL, CIVIL WAR STRATEGIC, REVOLUTIONARY WAR TACTICAL, ELECTION, RACING STRATEGY, NORTH ALTANTIC, U-BOAT, THE MIGHTY PACIFIC, MESSERSCHMIDT, MANSTEIN'S BATTLES, CONFLICT 70'S, SPANISH CIVIL WAR. Article on STALINGRAD. Article on electrical gadget for JUTLAND.

Rcd. a catalog from "BIBLIAGORA" an English book service. (i am sure that I sent for it after seeing it in G&P) - but can't find a record of doing so.) Many books but in a quick look the only of interest are: ABBOTT'S NEW CARD GAMES; BIRITCH OR RUSSIAN WHIST (1886); ROYAL AUCTION BRIDGE (Bergholt); FACTS AND SPECULATIONS ON PLAYING CARDS (Chatto); COMPETETIVE PATIENCE GAMES (Cynk); "DOUBLE YOU" (16 gambling games in 20 minutes); HANDBOOK OF GAMES AND SIMULATION EXERCISES (Gibbs); TIGER BRIDGE (Flint); AUCTION BRIDGE VARIATIONS (Manning - Foster); LET'S PLAY CAB (Walshe).

Rcd. the following checks, plus a letter from Bob Gellman and a summary of sales for 1974: HOLIDAY - $113.10, PATTON - $1665.38, MACARTHUR - $781.61 Deposited the two smaller checks in Chemical.

To "Gamut of Games." Told Phil Orbanes and Marty Kornblum (who was there) what Stephenson told me yesterday. They'll get back to him.

Phil said that of the boxes games INFINITY is moving off the shelves best - by about 10%. In the feedback there are no questions on my new rules.

Their reps were not too good in '74 and they didn't place a great many games. They expect to do much better this year. However they won't be adding titles with the possible exception of a special project that Andy Luftig, who is a friend of Marty's did. However Phil doesn't think that Andy can really finish it properly. If they go with it he will have work it out (GAME) and I'll get the royalties. Andy will get paid for his time.

He also said that there is a company "Y" that I'd be surprised about. Probably he can tell me in a few weeks.

I asked, and he said that Amway had asked to look at THE GOOD EARTH again. No action on the other projects.

I asked about the Rand games. All 9 are now out. He'll get after Bill Vega to send me an entire set (with another case?).

He rcd. a call from Djoli Kansil and I left as he was talking. On way out made repros of the following from G&P #32:
