(cont. from 1/7) [1/7]

SNAKES; DEVIL'S GOLF; Gamesviews of WHAT AM I BID, STEPPING STONES, TRICOLOR, and two books HANDBOOK OF GAMES AND SIMULATION EXERCISES and THE GUIDE TO SIMULATIONS/GAMES FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING.

Stopped at Bob Reiss. Neither he nor Manny Lefkowitz was in. Left word that I'd be out of town next week.

Stopped at Terry Seymour's office. Not in.

To Felicia. Gave her check for $395. 33, and she was pleased. Also gave her check for $42.41 to send to Ruth Shaller. Looked at the new games she had. POWER PLAY seemed to have some interest. Took it with me to study further. BUNGO is a simple game of throwing dice to get a certain digit or to get three of a kind. Nothing of interest.

To Bob Gellman. Told him that WASHINGTON was coming slowly but that we'd get it done. He said he has been having second thoughts about its sales potential. He called Brentano's and tried to get F.A.O. Swartz. He said that he'd call me tomorrow with his decision. If he cancels, he'll pay us for our work. Told him that we did get the advance, and implied that would satisfy us.

Took a copy of a catalog I don't think I have from before.

To S.P.I. Howie Barasch had three more letters for me, all with stamped envelopes. Spoke to Redmund. He still hasn't completed #48 but thinks he'll have to cut my column. He'll call me at home.

Took copies of the following: DESERT WAR, EL ALAMEIN, 1812, THE FRANCO-PRUSSIAN WAR, FOXBAT & PHANTOM, Book I, III, and IV
