Rcd. a letter giving me "a last chance to resubscribe to TOYS at the old rate." Wrote saying that I sent them a check on 6/14 and they cashed it on 6/21!

Rcd. NOST-ALGIA #175. Phil Cohen mentions Bill Rawlings booklet and some suggestions on the following games: BULO, CHOMP, GO-MOKU, HIP, PARITY, PENTOMINOES; also mentions ZOMBIE CHESS and CO-REGAL CHESS.

In "Non-Chess Game Results" saw, among many others, HEXAMINOES and MINILOA.

Ralph Betza had rules for REN-JUU which is very close to GO-MOKU. [illegible strikeout]

Realized that my dues were overdue. Wrote to Bob Lauzon, enclosing a check for $7.00.

Played JACK POTS 6 with Phil Laurence and Elliott. They weren't thrilled. Played 4-hand (without Elliott). It slowed up as players made throw that either they didn't want to use, or couldn't use because the space(s) were was (were) filled.

Gave the Laurence's a copy of SIX PACK OF PAPER & PENCIL GAMES.

Later thought of changing JACK POTS 6 so that a throw that can't be used because of filled space(s) gives the player a free choice of spaces.

When we played this evening I used green chips as a "2", giving each player 4 white, 3 green, 3 red, and 3 blue. This made the problem of making change better, but it still slows it down. I pretty much decided that the game will be too slow for more than 5. Limiting the game to 4 players, I can have 20 chips of each of the 4 colors and give 5 of each to each player, regardless of the number playing.
