Rcd. letter from Graeme Levin. AGOG is published. He sent CONFRONTATION (which I rcd.). Also mentionsMOVIE MAKER, STRATEGY, KINGMAKER, and G&P.
Also G&P #28 (#28) finally came. Articles on SHOGI, MANCALA, Wargaming by David Featherstone, BLUFF (card game), CHESS, SCRABBLE, MATHEMATICAL DICE, DRAUGHTS. Gamesview of LEE VS MEADE and PROPAGANDA. Forum letters on CARD CRICKET, SCRABBLE, BACKGAMMON, and book FIVE CLASSICS OF FAIRY CHESS. Ads for, among others, DECLINE AND FALL, SEASTRIKE, CARD GAMES (7 standard games in a book).
Started writing to Carol Peterson about FOREIGN INTRIGUE. Called Felicia to see if I should mention that we are showing it to someone else. She said just to tell Carol that Keith Tuggle had rejected it.
She decided she is going to call Bob Johnson and ask him
again to release FOCUS. Told her that I will be in the
neighborhood in the afternoon and I'll drop by to see the what
she learns.
She asked if I had seen the article on ANTI-MONOPOLY in yesterday's TIMES. I slipped and said that I had meant to get it and forgot. She asked how I knew about it and I said that Anspach had called me and wanted to come over to see my collection. I told him that I was too busy with my friend from France.
To "Gamut of Games." Waldimir Van Zedwitz was leaving
and I said hello. Phil Orbanes, Al Zygier and I played
THE FREAKY KING OF THE HILL. By coincidence it happened
that we kept going "over the hill" about 20 times and Phil
wanted to make some changes. Told him it was very unusual.
Actually at present the play is not that important.
Al will do a fast art job and then we won't go any
further until we get something definite from Ralston.
Took two copies THE 6 PACK OF PAPER & PENCIL GAMES, one of INFINITY, and one of INVASION: SICILY. Then later added two old packages of MYWORD! and BRIDGETTE.
At Phil's request brought the rules for FU MANCHU'S HIDDEN HOARD, MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS, & THE CASE OF THE ELUSIVE ASSASSIN for him to reproduce. His machine was jammed so I promised to bring them another time.
Everyone had to leave and the secretary, who was out on an errand, forgot her keys on her desk. I volunteered to wait until she returned. Phil said that he had paid someone to look up articles on games in periodicals and make repros. He looked for the
