OCTOBER 1974 - SUNDAY 6 EIGHTEENTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST - 279TH DAY - 86 DAYS TO COME

Made a new set of wood-grained pcs. for TWICE AS HARD. Decided that in the advanced game it is better to put all 16pcs. in a line so that the one who plays first can choose the "starter" from the two ends.

Using this I played solitaire and it was fun.

All of us (but not Charlotte) came here for supper. Annie came up by taxi.

Martin mentioned that he appreciated my getting him and Pierre together over the book (while Pierre was elsewhere) and he thinks that Pierre should appreciate it too.

Bob Gellman called while I was out. Wants me to call him tomorrow about the "New York Campaign" in WASHINGTON.

(cont. from 10/17) [10/22]

Pierre was interested in the book DOMINO SOLITAIRE and I said I'd reproduce it for him.

He saw the book 90 YEARS OF FUN and wanted a copy. I called Mike Alber. Not in but I spoke to his assistant and told him that Pierre was a French writer on games. He had a copy delivered to Pierres's hotel.

Showed NO WAY to Pierre.

Pierre said that there are so many good used book stores in Edinborough. There is also a "Toy & Game Museum" there.

While Pierre was here got a call from [drawn bracket] Carl Eisenberg He wants to talk to me about the game [drawn bracket] (275-9772) project and would like me to come to his home in Queens. I'll call early next week to set an evening date. He asked if Phil Orbanes had said anything and I answered that he had just mentioned it. He asked if anything was happening at Hallmark. I said that it looked encouraging, but I couldn't give details.

Also got a call from Felicia. All excited because Bob Johnson called and wanted to buy 4 copies of FOCUS (Whitman's). She is thinking of calling Western Printing but we are both sure that they wouldn't have any copies for sale. I said that it is easy to prepare sets using checkerboards with covering the corners. She suggested that I call him, [drawn bracket] Bob Johnson collect, and tell him about it. [drawn bracket] 816-274-5209
