9/22 23 MONDAY - SEPTEMBER 1974 FIRST DAY OF AUTUMN - 266TH DAY - 99 DAYS TO COME

Rcd. a letter from Tom Atwater. Norton Cross left Stancraft and Mary Hilt finally sent the release forms for TEMPO, ODD OR EVEN, INTERPLAY, and TRANSFORMATION.

Mary is sending him two copies of TRANSFORMATION and he asked if he should send me one to give to Felicia. (I think it would be better to prepare another model for him to present under other names - both for the game and me.)

He has placed one GAME with Aladdin.

Call from Felicia. SPECTRUM, FOREIGN INTRIGUE, FREE FORM, and SPACE BOXES came back from Aladdin. No letter. The NO WAY contract came back from 3M, initialed. No check yet.

She rcd. a letter from Carol Peterson which among other things, said that they were excited about the new "Bookshelf" Games. She has a date with Lynn Pressman next week (for Alan Newman's games, no doubt, altho she didn't say so.) She doest doesn't have their catalog and I said I'd bring mine. Made date for 10/1 at 2 p.m. I'll also look over the things that came back from Aladdin.

She has a date with Parker in about a month. I suggested showing FOREIGN INTRIGUE. She said that at Toy Fair she had wanted to show it to Bill Dohrmann but he wasn't interested in the theme. (Later I checked my archives and discovered that at 1973 Toy Fair Felicia had wanted to show it to him, but he said they were considering another game of that type at the time. If that didn't work out he'd like to see mine. This year I prepared the new edition before Toy Fair and it was sent right out to 3M.)

Call from Pierre Berloquin. He will be in N.Y> on 10/14. He'll send us the flight and we'll meet him at Kennedy. He'll leave N.Y. after a few days and return again on 10/23.

He said he had a game for me. I asked about the possibility of his bringing repros of the rules for games - such as STRINGO. Yes. I'll send a letter with the games I'd like; also the issues of REVUE DU JOUET. (He called from a magazine office.)

His 9th book is ready to come out. He'll tell me about them all when he gets here. He will also have news about SIDOMINOS.

Call from John Albright who is doing a piece on games for the Leisure Section (Sect. 2) of the Sunday TIMES. He is aiming it at the psychology of who plays games but spoke to me in general for over half an hour. I pushed my games a little - especially ACQUIRE and SLEUTH.

Mike Alber was the one who told him about me. I told Albright about Terry Seymour of M.B. [Milton Bradley], John Stephenson of "The Games Gallery," and also that he get in touch with 3M publicity.

Albright said that the newspaper will be expanding the leisure content of section 2 greatly. I asked if he thought they would be interested in game reviews and he said they might well be.
