SEPTEMBER 1974 - WEDNESDAY 18 261ST DAY - 104 DAYS TO COME
Rcd. Sept. TOYS. "New" lists TEE UP. There is an ad for SHOPPING.
Rcd. a letter from David Gwyn Watts, at Don Turnbull's suggestion. He is sending me (under separate cover I presume) copies of RAILWAY RIVALS (ID) and THE PENINSULAR WAR. He mentions seeing my name in G&P, ALBION, and EUROPA (not so).
He included a listing of his games: RAILWAY RIVALS (8 versions); INDUSTRIAL LOCATION; THE PENINSULAR WAR; THE PENNINE WAR; MARCHING TO RICHMOND (due early in '75).
Called Felicia. She has a meeting with O-I tomorrow for lunch. I'll check at about 3:30 to see if she is in.
Called Steve Brodie about the missing equipt. for ELECTION X and HARE AND TORTOISE. He has arranged for me to pick up copies of the games at "Games Gallery" (see 8/2) rather than breaking cases. John Stephenson would like to meet me.
Wrote to Tom Ransom (see 9/16).
Wrote to Walter Luc Haas (see 8/21). Mentioned EUROPA, S&T, TOP, TOWER OF LONDON, PAGODE, XERXES, CONTRA, TORNADO, ZOCK, BLUFF, KERLETT, PATTON, MACARTHUR, AGOG, ORIGINS OF WORLD WAR I, ACQUIRE, EXECUTIVE DECISION, SLEUTH, VENTURE, MONAD, BAZAAR, CONQUEST, KING.
Wrote to Alister MacIntyre. Sent him the second of the repros Al Richter made for me of GAMES WITH PENCIL AND PAPER. Mentioned GAMBIT, BRASS TACTICS, TREK, STRATEGY, 4000 A.D., KGB, and CAMPAIGN.
Wrote to Frank Thibault. Mentioned CONTIGO, NO WAY, G&P, Tom Atwater, Alex Randolph, EASY COME-EASY GO, and PLOY.
While looking through the German catalogs I became interested in the picture of ORDINO. Thinking of a GAME idea where getting certain combination of cards allows a pc. to move from space to space. (ORDINO is a "Schmidt Spiele.")

I saw the new boxes of all the games, but the insides are not ready yet.
Took 2 of the small box sets of BRIDGETTE. Asked about old sets
of MYWORD! They are being repackaged. He gave me loose loose
sheets for the game.
Phil asked me about my meeting with Manny Lefkowitz. I told him. He said the Reiss is not reliable and that I should get an advance before doing anything especially for them. Also he'd like me to let "Gamut" have first look at any board games.
