SEPTEMBER 1974 - SATURDAY 14 257TH DAY - 108 DAYS TO COME

At a Flea Market near New Hope saw an old set of ROOK. The cards were in very bad shape and I don't think there was anything different in the rules. (Didn't buy it for $3.50.)

At an inside room spoke to a dealer, Sylvia A. Barrish, Mary Fisher's Antique Shopping Center, Lahaska, Pa. - (215) 794-7862. Home phone (215) WI 7-1958. She knows Herb Siegel. She has a little collection of old games of her own, which she may decide to sell. We exchanged cards and she will contact me when she has something to sell.

Rcd. a letter from Steve Wilson. Mentioned S&T, SWITCH, Abbo ABBOTT'S NEW CARD GAMES, BUGS AND LOOOPS, AGOG, Martin Gardner, PENNYROYAL, ORION, PARITY CHECKERS, ORION, ORION CHESS. Asked about a newspaper THE QUEEN, which was mentioned in Martin Gardner's column on REVERSI. I checked the column and couldn't find the reference.

variation. No particular comment from him. Told him that I was sorry about the damaged in his copy of AGOG. He said that he has come up with the following games: the latter 2 being better in his opinion: PIVOT POINT (told his about M.B.'s [Milton Bradley] PIVOT, which he never heard of), BOGGLE (told him about Parker's), BARRIER and QUADRANT. I asked if one of these was the game with the cards and board that was mentioned yesterday. No, that is by someone else and is called HO VE DI (for Horizontal, Vertical, and Diagonal).

He asked if BALI was mentioned yesterday. Definitely.

Called Howie Barasch to ask if they had taken anything from the envelope with STELLAR CONQUEST. No. I suggested that letters addressed to me should not be opened. He agreed and will give instructions.

Made corrections to the RED LETTER rules incorporating all the changes I have come up with.

Looking at THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS and FITTING & PROPER in connection with the letter to Hallmark that I am preparing.

Claude and Wald here for supper. Wald brought his girl-friend, Bobbie.

Played Claude's rip-off [illegible strikeout] game, RAZZLE DAZZLE. There are cards representing "shares" in about 8 different land companies, anywhere from 7 to 10 shares in each company. These are placed in 3 piles, face-up so that the top one can be seen. There
