11 WEDNESDAY - SEPTEMBER 1974 254TH DAY - 111 DAYS TO COME
In checking the equipment of HARE AND TORTOISE and ELECTION X against that listed in the rules, discovered that the cards in both games were only dummies. Also game markers were missing from the latter.
Called Steve Brodie. I'll call him again next week to arrange to go there and pick up the missing material.
Rcd. a letter from Lucien Vittet. Mentions HIGH RISE, Felicia, Odette Willis, and Pierre Berloquin.
Call from Felicia while I was out and I called back. She asked me the name of a game by Alan Newman that had too many pcs. and took too long. I determined that she meant FERRET. She also asked me what games Pressman have in their catalog and I told her. (Obviously, altho she didn't say anything about it. Alan got her into the Pressman deal.) She mentioned that Alan thought my "Gamut of Games" p&p games were great. She'd like to see them. Told her that I'd get her a set when they were out.
At the gift show she spoke to Jerry Green of "Pager" (previously
"Puzzle Factory"). He was quite enthusiastic about
business. He said that they'd like a GAME made on a there
and didn't have time to do it themselves. Felicia said that there
is no one better than me, but that I am expensive. They said
that that they'd be willing to pay. But she hasn't heard from
them since.
She brought up Vittet's letter. (She also rcd. a personal letter from Odette.) We decided to wait to see if anything developed. In writing to Aladdin she said that we are anxious to see the packaging of TOTALLY--. She also wrote to Keith Tuggle telling him that we had sent back the contract for NO WAY for final signing and that we were looking forward to the check.
I brought up Hallmark and she said that she got the retainer check much earlier this month that she has been getting it lately.
Wrote to Haar Hoolim (finishing letter started 9/2). Mentioned JOURNAL OF RECREATIONAL MATHEMATICS, STACK-UP, Q-SETS, BARRICADE, MATTIX, SPELLBOUND, and DOUBLE.
Wrote to Graeme Levin. Mentioned TREK, THE SIGMA FILE, 3 UP, SPECTRA, POUNCE, STOCKBROKER, CABBIE, GAMES WITH PENCIL AND PAPER, O&X, G&P, ACQUIRE, SLEUTH, LAP, NETWORK, OSMOSIS, PLOY, VENTURE, COMBINATION, MOVIEMAKER, CONFRONTATION, STRATEGY, KING MAKER, GOLD RUSH, ESCAPE FROM COLDITZ, FACTS IN FIVE, KGB, TRIPPPLES, CAR-TEL, REALM, INFINITY, EXECUTIVE DECISION, and the p&p games by Hoi Polloi, 3M, and Gamut of Games. Also AGOG.
