28 WEDNESDAY - AUGUST 1974 240TH DAY - 125 DAYS TO COME

Rcd. a letter from Bep Koopman in Amsterdam. Enclosed newspaper clipping about the inventor of CARTINO.

Called Phil Orbanes to talk about call from Manny Lefkowitz. Out of town. Expected in Friday monrning.

Called Alan Newman to ask him what games he had bought and seen in Canada, so that I could give Dale instructions on what to look for. He bought the following: SUPERSTAR (K-Tel is the name, rather than Itemation); SPECULATE; QUEBEC - 1759; KLONDIKE (Gamma 2) - altho mainly luck it is fun to play (I'll have Dale look for it); RAT RACE; GAME OF NATIONS; FORMULA 1 (Waddingtons) - I said that Parker made it bit couldn't find it in the latest catalog; HURRY UP - a marble action game by Parker; PAYDAY (Parker of Canada) - a completely non-thinking game; ENIGMAKO - a French game of putting together parts of pictures to reconstruct a criminal's face (I'll have Dale look for it). There were a number of French games that he saw and didn't buy, since his French is rudimentary. Among these was CHICAGO which he said he saw in a number of stores (I'll have Dale look for it).

He is going to send to England for the following games: MOVIE MAKER; CONFRONTATION; STOCKBROKER; SPECTRA; ASTRO BLITZ; SKUDO; AWKWORDS; GUARD (these 4 in the "Long-Playing" Packages); SIGMA FILE. I told him that I have most of these and in some cases he can get enough info without actually buying the games.

Made date for him to come here on 9/6. He'll bring me ANTI-MONOPOLY and SUPERSTAR for my collection (since none of his friends will play them.

Short letter to Pierre Berloquin. Mentioned S&T and MOVES. Letter to Thomas Galloway. Sent 50¢ in stamps for the copy of SPACE HUK. Mentioned WAYLAND MADNESS, DERCH-ACH, and HEXTERMINATION.

Played 500 RUMMY with dad & Ilka.
