8/21 8/20 22 THURSDAY - AUGUST 1974 234TH DAY - 131 DAYS TO COME

Called Bernie Lane. The "Puzzle Exhibit" which Lillian Silver is putting together is still alive and he is going up to Xerox to talk about it. I tried to convince him that I wasn't the right one to do the shop drawings since mechanical and electrical knowledge was involved, but he doesn't know any one else to do it. There is $1500, or possibly a little more, in it for me, if I do it. Left it that he'd call me when he gets back from Xerox.

Call from Howie Barasch. He asked me the manufacturer of 4000 A.D. and STARLORD.

He rcd. a copy copies of the "Statis-Pro Games" (what I later found out were) UNITED STATES AUTO CLUB AUTO RACING GAME and MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL GAME. Tho they weren't sent specifically to me he'll hold them for me.

Call from Felicia. She rcd. a call from Allaire Urban Karzon of All Aladdin, who called to say she rcd. the contracts (TOTALLY--, INTERSECTION, PUSHOVER, and THE BRAIN GAME. She is putting the checks in the mail tonight. Felicia told her that I would be very happy to get the check as soon as possible (or something like that). Karzon said that sh they wanted Mr. Sackson to have a clear mind to make up a lot more games for them. She has played some of the ones they have of mine and likes them a lot.

Felicia asked if I was submitting games to Aladdin other than thru her. Keith Tuggle told her that heard that I was (??). I said that I hadn't and that the only one I planned to was TRANSFORMATION, which I had created specifically for Tom Atwater, when it was returned from Stancraft. She said that she wants all of my games to Aladdin to go thru her. She'll give Atwater the commission. I said that I respected her feelings in the matter and would see that Atwater didn't submit it to Aladdin. Also that perhaps they could split commissions - such as 15% and 15%, with 70% to me.

The fellow who sent the original letter to INCOME OPPORTUNITIES (see 8/19) contacted her. He has a game JET CAPTAIN, which allows the players to make some of the decisions in flying a jet plane. She doubts it she'll handle it.

Alan Newman is picking up some GAMEs for me in Canada, on his vacation. (How does she know? Card from Alan?)

Rcd. letter from Haar Hoolim. Enclosed a letter he had sent to JOURNAL OF RECREATIONAL MATHEMATICS and which was returned marked "Moved, not forwardable." I'll have to check with Martin Gardner. Mentions STACK-UP, TURNOVER, JOINING, CROSSOVER, and DOUBLE. He enclosed complete rules for DOUBLE.

Called Tom Atwater and told him not to send TRANSFORMATION to Aladdin. Suggested the 15%-15% split and he said that would be o.k. He has
