AUGUST 1974 - WEDNESDAY 21 233RD DAY - 132 DAYS TO COME
Call from Felicia. She heard from Keith Tuggle. The sales
of the p&p games - HEDRON, etc. are are so bad that
they are holding up on the line.
Rcd. a form letter from : [drawn bracket] Walter Luc Haas [drawn bracket] Achilles Bischoff - Str. 6 [drawn bracket] CH-4053 Basel [drawn bracket] Switzerland
He sent me a copy of his new magazine - EUROPA. It is
a roundup of clubs magazine, and other info - most of
it American - on wargaming. Among games mentioned, [illegible strikeout] is
[illegible strikeout] EARLY PACIFIC BATTLES.
(Call from Felicia cont.) Instead of the $500 advance on Alan Newman's 4 games, they are offering a $200 holding fee on each (but he said $1000 - ?) till the end of the year. He wanted the same deal with my NO WAY, but since we have a signed contract she refused.
Tried to call Ralph Betza. No answer.
(cont. from 8/22) [8/22]
been writing to Norton Cross about getting TRANSFORMATION back, but hasn't gotten an answer. We agreed that I'd try Mary Hilt.

Parker will probably be going ahead with their "adult line" with some distribution this fall.
MASTERMIND is the feature game. To make it play faster, the number of pegs in a line has been reduced from 4 to 3.
HANNIBAL seems something like PACHISI. The third GAME (Tom didn't remember the name) sounds something like 3M's EVADE.
I asked if there had been any comment when HIT THE JACKPOT was rejected. No, but Tom thinks it may have been too long-playing. They want very short ones.
Alex Randolph sent him one which (I believe) is called TWOODLES. there is a 4x3 field made so that 12 chips - 3 each of 4 colors - can be "wiped" at random, There are 6 cards with pairs of colors - all 6 arrangements - with holes in each color. [drawing of two connected squares] These are placed on the board covering two chips of the proper colors. Last to place a card wins. All cards are available to the players until, of course, one is played. Tom mentioned a game STRATA POLT which I can't remember any-
