AUGUST 1974 - TUESDAY 13
225TH DAY - 140 DAYS TO COME

After 11 at night called Tom Atwater, in answer to his card. Told him that I have been busy on a lot of projects and so have been neglecting the things I said I'd prepare for him; that I'd drop something else if he felt it was critical. No, he has found that things were slow this year. Told him that things looked promising for me with Aladdin, but didn't go into details.
Told him that I hear that 3M sales are going up. The only things of his that have held up are TWIXT and FACTS IN FIVE.
He will continue to try to get back TRANSFORMATION, but they just don't answer his letters at Stancraft. I told him that I would be willing, but not anxious, to return the unused portion of the advance, if necessary to get the game back. (I checked my records later and they never asked for the advance I rcd. [received] for AIRLINE in '71 [1971] when they returned it. The money for the peg games was a closing fee, not an advance.)
He hasn't heard anything further on HIT THE JACKPOT. Hopefully in Sept. [September]
Alex's German games started up great but have slowed up so that they are behind his 3M games now.
Told Tom that altho I was busy, I would be glad to evaluate any GAME rules he'd like to send for my comments.
Told him that I didn't receive the rules for KARMA that he said Dick Benton of Four Generations was going to send me. I asked if he had placed anything with them. He said that one thing was close, but that he is not sure if he wants to go with them. Benton won't give him any indication of their sales.
