AUGUST 1974 - SUNDAY 11 TENTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST - 223RD DAY - 142 DAYS TO COME

Finished my column with a writeup of CHINESECHEK, DAM-IT!, NINETACTOE, WORDPLAY, VEGAS 13 and Bill Rawlings' NON-CHESS GAMES.

Earl called while I was writing and BB spoke to him. He is staying temporarily at Peter's wife's apt. Left the number but no answer when I called later.

Worked out THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN. Played by myself, and then with BB and Danda. They liked it. Made a cardboard board and a more presentable set of cards to bring tomorrow.

Made up a set for two for TOTALLY--. Couldn't find a record of the "Key Numbers" until I found it in a letter to "Aco Games," 11 to 17 and 18 to 24. Played a game with BB and won after being far behind.

Made a new diagram for the third page of the rules but made some mistakes.

Spoke to Jim Dunnigan. Small talk, except that he said that the postal inspector was looking for Bob Champer over the game war-game company that he was tied up with. They took in some money through the mails, and then didn't send the games.

Played 500 RUMMY with dad & Ilka.

(Further notes of meeting at "Gamut.") [illegible strikeout] Phil went west to talk to the producers of the TV game show DEALER'S CHOICE. They are interested - but nothing definite yet - in a TV show called either SUSPENSE or SUSPICION. He wants me to start thinking about it.

Marty also wants me to start thinking about a GAME for OTB, and for lotteries around the country.

The p&p games - OIL STRIKE, etc. will be out the first week of Sept. The new INFINITY and REALM and the games also. THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT and THE SENSUOUS GAME BY X will be out in October.
