8 THURSDAY - AUGUST 1974 220TH DAY - 145 DAYS TO COME
Call from Bob Gellman. A retired general at the MacArthur Museum had some suggested alterations in the MACARTHUR historical materials. Bob read them to me and I had no objections. The rules have been printed and he is not sure how he'll handle the changes. He'll send me the repros of the letter and his answer.
Then Stan asked my opinion of BIGWIG. I said it was a good, but not a great game. Also that political games usually sell only in presidential election years.
Bob (I believe) said that LIE, CHEAT, & STEAL! is reputed to be the best seller in the D.D.I. line. However, he notices big pile of unsold LANDSLIDE's by Parker. Also his biggest flop was WHITE HOUSE.
I asked whether Explorations was trying to get them to take over BIGWIG. Didn't get a direct yes or no.
Went over the games and other material for review in S&T
and made 3" x 2 1/2" cards for the following: IMPERIALISM; GAMBIT;
