6 TUESDAY - AUGUST 1974 TRANSFIGURATION - 218TH DAY - 147 DAYS TO COME

Call from Felicia. She got a call from Jim Kelso. In order to price TOTALLY-- they want to reduce the tiles from 40 to 30. They want to know if that if o.k. I said that I was sure that it is o.k., but that I'd study it. [illegible strikeout] I should have an answer in an hour or so. To expedite getting the game out by October she gave me Jim's number and said it would be o.k. to call him collect. [bracket drawn] James Kelso [bracket drawn] 615-748-3575

I told her that I had an old set of HONORABLE RELATIONS that she could show to Aladdin on 8/14. She has decided to hold up awhile - to give Hallmark some more time.

She wasn't too disappointed about the 3M report. But BALI paid more than all her 3M royalties put together.

Alan Newman was there with a bottle of champagne to celebrate his p&p contracts with 3M. He has an old game that he picked up for my collection - FLYING THE BEAM. Spoke to Alan to thank him. In his neighborhood there are some "ma & pa" candy stores that have some very old games put away. He'll look at them and get some for my collection - or he'll get the names first. I offered to pay for FLYING THE BEAM, but he said he wants to contribute to my collection.

I asked him to be sure to hold on to his copy of ANTI-MONOPOLY, in case I don't get one. He will.

I told him that I had looked at his game B-O-C-Q and thought it was interesting - the and LONG DISTANCE especially. I asked him whether in OSMOSIS players could move in any direction, including back. He thinks so.

He'll get in touch when he gets back from vacation.

Looked at TOTALLY-- rules and 30 tiles are fine. Called Kelso to tell him. He said that he had worrie wondered whether the key numbers would have to be changed. No. The illustration will have to be changed since there were 4 - 15. I had already fixed it up and said I could give him the info. He said he'd pick it up from Felicia when he sees her 8/14.

He said that I seemed to see games the same way they did. I mentioned that what they have in mind is a game with good play value at a reasonable price - like TRIPPPLES. He said that the $3 price for that game is like an introductory giveaway. They won't be able to match that again.

Called Felicia to tell her about my call to Kelso. Next Monday I'll stop in and we'll play TOTALLY--.
