JULY 1974 - SUNDAY 28 EIGHTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST - 209TH DAY - 156 DAYS TO COME

Wrote a "GamesView" for VENTURE.

Looked at my father's translation of 50 GIER NA KOLOROWYCH PLANSZACH and decided that there would by be too much work involved in getting it into shape, for the money that Dover would pay.

Testing ideas for INFINITY.

(cont. from 7/29) [7/29]

what I did with it. He asked me to have it ready by 8/1 and I'll bring the rules in at 2 p.m. He said that if I have to pay anyone for play testing, he'd cover it.

He had lunch sent up.

Looked at G&P #27. Made a repro of a Reader's Game - CARD BULUCH. (Filed in Phil Orbanes Folder.)

From "Gamut of Games" made two telephone calls: To Steve Brodie about ELECTION and THE HARE AND THE TORTOISE. Not in. Left word for him to call back. Didn't.

To John Grafton of Dover. Told him of the difficulties with 50 GIER NA KOLOROWYCH PLANSZACH and that the onl only way to handle it would be to get someone who knew Polish and someone who knew games to work together. He said that they may get back to me - but I believe it is unlikely. Told him that I am still held up in getting AGOG back.

Walked to Job Lot. Nothing at all new in games. Also no stationary items.

On way bought June & July '74 SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN's at Sylvan. Later bought May '74 on Chambers St.

At my father's played 500 RUMMY.

Translated the introduction in 50 GIER NA KOLOROWYCH PLANSZACH to FOCUS: "Focus is one of the most curious and original two-handed game board of characteristic marshal. This game was invented before several scarcely years ago in States United, quickly came to Europe, where embellished itself always majority popular and acknowledged."
