7/21 JULY 1974 - MONDAY 22 203RD DAY - 162 DAYS TO COME

To Mike Abner. Gave him a copy of AGOG and signed it. Took a copy of THE INVENTORS and PRO DRAFT, with glossies. The list prices are $8 and $10.

Talking about review columns he said that Richard Moon was syndicated in a number of western newspapers. He had a file (not complete) of Moon's columns. I picked out 8 of them which he said he'd reproduce and mail to me.

Returned TRIAD - A UNIQUE SERIES OF CARD GAMES DESIGNED BY JOHN JACKSON to Dallas Mayr. Spoke to him and pointed out an error I found.

To Phil Orbanes. Went over printed rules and the diagrams for the six p&p games - OIL STRIKE!, etc. - and I found a few errors. Al Zygier came over and I went over the corrections with him.

I asked about credits and Phil wants to put "Created by Sid Sackson and Phil Orbanes" to cover all six games. I would have preferred individual credits, but didn't complain.

Showed THE GOOD EARTH to Phil and then Marty Kornblum came in and we played 3-hand. They liked it a lot. Phil said that I'd get 5¢ per game and, if Amway takes it, there will be sales of at least 100,000.

I'll write the rules before a meeting next Monday, and will discuss the art work with Al Zygier then.

Marty Kornblum had a lot of ideas for advertising "Gamut of Games," by games and puzzles for subway billboards that we would provide free. Also a newspaper column that we would provide free. Later Phil told me to forget about it for now. Marty has some kind of an in at OTB and wants to talk them into doing a game. Told him a little about me LOTTERY, or THE WINNING TICKET. And if this is not what they want I can come up with something else. He'll have me come along when he goes to talk with them.

Told Phil that I was satisfied with my new rule for REALM. He'd like me to write it up by next Monday. There is a good possibility that Amway will buy a supply of the original sets and put them out under a new name. I will get .7¢ on each game sold.

Took pcs. to replace the pcs. that were missing in the REALM set I took last week - but still don't have it right.

I told Phil about my ideas for drastic changes in INFINITY. He said to go ahead with them.

Phil asked if the name SUSPENSE had been used. Told him I thought so, but later discovered it was just Claude's game.

Through Kornblum, there is a company in New England - "Hendrie's Ice Cream" - which is doing interested in a game based on the TV program THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN. It is supposed to be for ages 6 to 10, for 2 to 4 players. The board is about 12" x 12" and equipment can be cards, tokens, and possibly dice. It should lend itself to new editions - new adventures.
