17 WEDNESDAY - JULY 1974 198TH DAY - 167 DAYS TO COME
Call from Felicia. Aladdin will be sending us a contract for TOTALLY-- and a $1500 advance when Kelso gets back from Australia on 7/26. It is slated for production at the beginning of 1975.
PUSHOVER and INTERSECTION are still very much in the running. Felicia is pushing them on THE BRAIN GAME which she thinks is the most fun. She is afraid that TOTALLY-- will bomb, ruining me with Aladdin.
She heard from 3M that they are returning SUPERGHOSTS and FOUR. They are sending a contact for NO WAY. There is a $500 advance and 3% royalties for 10 years, after which the game is theirs.
Thinking about ideas for THE GOOD EARTH. Main innovation players draw one card on a turn and can keep any card drawn and can use as many as desired on a turn. Special cards, when drawn, force all players to reduce their hands.

I told Phil about this. (He told me who told Jim but I don't remember the details.) The games that Jim heard about are Wexo's two games and the three "Rand" war games, which will be put out under the "Gamut" label:- LEE VS. MEADE, SARATOGA - 1777, & INVASION: SICILY.
Phil said that he has never seen PATTON and I said that I'd bring him a copy next Monday.
Phil said that we won't be getting any royalties from Hoi Polloi for this 4 month period. There have been more returns - all on the single games - than there have been sales. CHINESECHEK, etc.
We discussed payment for my consultant work and Phil said that he'd leave the amount up to me. I suggested $15 an hour and he said that was fine with him.
I asked if I had to sent 10% to I-Q for the advance on the 6 p&p games. He said to wait until there was a substantial amount. He foresees I-Q becoming much more active, when there are deals that have to be taken care of not under the "Gamut of Games" label.
We looked for G&P #25 but couldn't find it. I borrowed his copy of #26.
Thought that I might have a chance to play REALM tonight so took along a copy. (Later discovered that the major pcs. of both colors were missing.
Met Wald with a friend and then Claude. Up to S.P.I. to play
Wald's Cartel GAME. There are 20 countries, five on a side - with two
other spaces on each side and other spaces in the corners. Each
country has 4 commodity spaces - the same four for each country,
but the commodities vary from in the number of companies that
