11 TUESDAY - JUNE 1974
KAMEHAMEHA DAY - ST. BARNABAS - 162ND DAY - 203 DAYS TO COME
Rcd. a letter from Edward Purcell. He'd like to learn more
about DELPHI.
Rcd. HOLEY TERROR back from Alfons Rubbens (the box was
crushed since there was no packing). Also a short letter.
In a "Publisher's Central Bureau" booklet there was a page of "Adult
Games" including LIE, CHEAT, & STEAL, CHECKERS (mentioning
that there are variations), AQUARIUS II, ESP, I CHING,
SEDUCTION, XAVIERA'S GAME, CHUG-A-LUG. (Filed in '74 Misc.)
Call from Felicia. Kathy Brooks called her and asked for a
favor. Felicia wants to call her back collect and asked if I had
her number. I told her to look at Kathy's stationery.
She asked when I was coming to look at HIGH RISE. Arranged
to come about 11 tomorrow morning. Mike Riley and
Steve Radash will be there. Steve is crazy about games and
wants to meet me. He has been helping Felicia a great deal -
without pay.
Felicia wrote to Odette Willis saying that HIGH RISE seems
dull, but that she would try her best with it. If not successful
she'd like me to get the model (so as not to have to send it back).
She apologized for having Alan Newman and me leave last Monday
when the other people came (see 6/3). It has nothing to do with
games - but she has to make money somewhere! I told Felicia
about working on engineering.
Caught up with game diary. For the first time since Stationery Show.
Made a new layout for the game SPRINGER. Tried it a few
times with BB. Added numbers along the edges - to break ties
and also for 3 or 4 players.
(cont. from 6/12) [6/12]
copied the layout of the "30 dice."
While Steve was getting himself coffee Felicia told me, for
my own good, that my games "are not fun." I pointed out
that some were "fun games", but she had her mind made up.
To S.P.I. Jim Dunnigan told me that, realistically, he will
be forced to combine my column and the book reviews on
one page in many issues - but with a smaller type. In
the feedback he will lump "reviews" together and hopefully
the ratings will be better. He said I have a hardcore
following of 20%. I asked that if he intends to drop
my column that he give me notice so that I don't make commitments
I can'r follow thru on. He said my column
definitely won't be dropped.
Gave Redmund my column for #45. He didn't think there will
be any trouble getting it in - tho he may not be able to
(cont. on 6/10)
