FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER - MOTHER'S DAY - 132ND DAY - 233 DAYS TO COME

Worked out a setup for NO WAY. Using tracing paper found a solution for each of the 15 combinations of two numbers. I found it quite easy. BB tried 3 of them, and came up with different solutions. By the third she found it fairly easy, but said it was good that way.
Later I thought of the possibility of having the player choose a third number and look for a solution with a minimum of that number used.

Played ARP with BB. Played the simplest version. Each in turn draws an entire line, which must touch or cross the previously drawn line. Player completing lines around a space colors it in and scores one point for it at the end. In order not to have it preordained as to who draws the last line, thought of the following: If a line crosses the last line, it can be drawn to either side or to both.
Played KLEE with BB. Using the entire field it was rather a long game. Decided to suggest blocking off the outside two rings for a short game, one ring for a medium game, and no rings for a long game.
There was a duplication of configurations and I changed mine. Later decided that if a player completed his op opponents configuration there was no score (as BB originally suggested). In this case there is no objection to duplication, since whoever makes the configuration scores it.
I had an ABAB configuration. Once I set it up it could be continued indefinitely until stopped on both ends. Stopped the game and added a rule that there has to be 3 or 4 colors in each configuration.

the two they took already.
She said to show all my strategy games to Aladdin - when they set up a date. Looked at the SPECTRUM model returned from Hallmark. Fixed it up a little and it will do. Felicia gave me a big build up to Aladdin and said I had some brand-new things to show them.

To S.P.I. Spoke to Jim Dunnigan for quite a while. In about a year they will start doing abstract games to sell in stores. If these move it will lead to a general games magazine. The games will be done mainly in house. If a do one it will be for about $3,000 flat fee - but Jim will give me a definite assignment with guaranteed payment. If I work on salary on the magazine, Jim doesn't mind what I do on the outside. We'll keep discussing it as things develop.
Howie Barasch gave me publicity release from "Intellect Games." From Sal took the following:- WAR IN THE EAST, LA GRANDE ARMEE,
