MAY 1974 - SATURDAY 11
131ST DAY - 234 DAYS TO COME
Drew up KLEE. Got repros of the 6 games (23 total).
Looked thru my art books to name the games - MONDRIAN
was named some time ago.
Harold Saperstein (and Phylis) here. Told Harold to let me know
which is the last S&T he has and I'll get him up to date.
When getting copies at Boston Road the girl found the diagrams
very interesting and asked me what they were.
(cont. from 5/13) [5/13]
There are 25 square pcs. with a [drawing of game board with 25 squares, each with a black mark in the top right corner]
hole in one corner. Players in turn
place a pc. in any position - with
sides II sides of the board - they
wish. Last to place a pc. wins or
play can be that last loses. The
red positions show 9 pcs. com-
pletely filling all available spaces
(a pc. cannot overhang the edge
of the board).
Mike also had ARCHIEBALL and CANNONBALL which
he has taken back from Al Stack of Skor-Mor. Felicia
didn't want to handle them. When Mike showed
CANNONBALL, which forms a pyramid with 5 balls on an
edge, Stack grabbed it since Piet Hein had just had
a pyramid with 4 balls on an edge put out.
Mike originally had 19 cards with ARCHIEBALL - all
possible permutations arrangements of 4 balls of 1 color
and 5 of the other taken 5 at a time. Stack cut them
to 16 which Mike objected to. He also had an advanced
version with four arms meeting at the low [drawing of nine circles in the shape of a T]
point and cards for each possible arrangement
of the configuration shown, 120 he thought.
Stack didn't use this at all. Mike never had the problem
of repetitious non-scoring moves, he said.
Mike wanted to talk with me and took my card. He
doesn't have a permanent address at present.
After Mike left Felicia showed me a royalty report for
foreign royalties on ACQUIRE, BAZAAR, and a very small
amount for SLEUTH. The total is $2,500.84 and it is all being
sent to me. I'll have to send Felicia her share.
Felicia has a date with Keith Tuggle at 8:30 on 5/20,
but he wants to speak to her alone. She has a number
of things to show him. Told her about NO WAY and she
liked it. I'll show it to him myself at the Stationary Show.
It looks as if they may take another two of Alan Newman's
p&p games. However they still haven't sent the advances for
