Rcd. check for $150.00 from R.G.I. for MACARTHUR advance.
Felicia called about the Hallmark check. She said that CUBITS did con-
siderably better, altho they ran out of the dice for it. She thinks
that Hallmark will learn from their errors and will do o.k. in games.
Told her of the MACARTHUR advance and she said that every little
bit helps.
Bill Tyler is no longer with Brentano's. She believes that he has
moved up in the parent book company. The new buyer won't be there
till after Stationary Show.
In a little discussion about the Marvin Glass I told her about
Ideal and THE BOSS (see 4/27).
Told Felicia that I was working on a solitaire p&p game (NO WAY)
for her to show Keith Tuggle during Stationary Show.
In evening started copying the board for TOPOLOGIK.
During day wrote to Haar Hoolim. Mentioned TURNOVER PUZZLE,
TOWER OF HANOI, FOCUS, S&T, STACK-UP, CONTACTIC, TOPOLOGIK,
HEX, SPECTRUM.
Call from Martin Gardner. Mrs. Lillian Silver will be there to dis-
cuss the Xerox exhibit on Weds. and I'll join them.
Martin has another letter from Lech Pijanowski's friend.
Martin has a new game from John Horton Conway. It is called
FOOTBALL and is played on a GO board. Conway wants it kept con-
fidential but Martin will show it to me.
He also has some info on other games from correspondents in Europe.
Called Fabio Coen and told him about my ideas for the book - MONDRAIN,
etc. He was interested and I'll go there next Monday at 10.
While in Italy he visited Alex Randolph in Venice.
Martin Gardner in his call said that he was doing two columns
of TANGRAMS. He asked if I know of any games using the pcs.
Told him of Lech Pijanowski's TANGRAM in his book. Also said that
I had been working on a game of TANGRAMS for Frank Armbruster.
I'll bring the info with me Weds.
