APRIL 1974 - THURSDAY 25
ST. MARK, EVANGELIST - 115TH DAY - 250 DAYS TO COME

Letter from Haar Hoolim. Sent me new rules for STACK-UP and a copy of his letter to Or-Da. In his letter to me he mentions that "Roylon [illegible strikeout] Inc." will be putting out the six Or-Da games in the U.S.A. TAKE BALL TAKE ALL will be one of them probably. What he said was SHESH BESH is actually called CHESS BESH and it is nothing new. Mentions TURNOVER PUZZLE (CROSSOVER PUZZLE) and a possible game with the same equipment. Mentions G&P and BARRICADE and TAU.
Letter from Tom Atwater, or rather a note. Mentioned SLIPPED DISC and SLIP DISC (Mattel). He'll be in at Stationary Show. Sent check for $4.60 (1st quarter TEMPO, etc.)
Letter from Hayward Cirker of Dover inquiring about AGOG.

Returned ECLIPSE to Claude during our date.

A great many games were shown, starting with very young children's and working up to adult. Almost all seemed to be standards [illegible strikeout], some under different names. Two I couldn't recognize were ESPIONAGE and COMPULSION, and there were others.
Harold said that it is an English outfit and they are looking for someone to put out the line in the U.S. I told Harold what some of the games were and said that when they get the actual games I would be glad to look at them and identify them if I can. he said that if they had me do this it would be on a consultation basis. I thanked him - but said that I'd still like to look at the games even if they don't want me as a consultant.
I asked about SIDETRACK and it is still not in production.
Harold showed me a report on the game business that had been prepared for a book company that had considered going into the business. It looked as if they were just slicing the baloney in different ways. Harold loaned it to me to look at in more detail. Incidentally Harold agreed with my opinion.

To R.G.I. and went over the MACARTHUR maps. Rick Lewis added the LL but kept the H, making it "LLHAGEN." Told Art Burnstein.
Met Bill Garrity in the elevator and spoke a few minutes.

At Felicias took copy of HIJACKED that Alan Newman
