Rcd. NOST-ALGIA #168. Phil Cohen mentions GO ON A CUBE,

rules for CHESS WITH RESERVES and CHESKERS. In his second
column Phil Cohen had S.K. Howard describe JET CHESS, with
a mention of SUPERJET CHESS. Phil mentions SEMI-CIRCLE CHESS,
CHESS IN THE ROUND. In another column Bill Rawlings has a
listing of various non-chess and chess variant game for

all. Included are CROSSINGS, KNIGHT CHASE, LAP, LINES OF ACTION,
LAST WORD, and PAPER BOXING from AGOG. Ralph Betza dis-
cusses GRID CHESS (with a mention of U-GRID CHESS),
skoSCOTCH GR GRID CHESS (PLAID CHESS),

of), ORBITAL CHESS, BROWNIAN MOTION CHESS, CASSANDRA CHESS,

TERRITORY-LET PENTOMINOES, DUOHOLE PENTOMINOES, and many more.

Rcd. card from Jerry D'Arcey. He'll be in town for just one day. He'll
contact me about getting together.

Rcd. a check and a letter from Graeme Levin. The number value
and the written out value on the check didn't agree.

To S.P.I. Gave Sal the copy of PATTON I promised him.
Took copies of RIFLE & SABER, SOLDIERS, RED STAR/WHITE STAR,
and SPITFIRE.

Howard Barasch gave me a letter sent to the magazine for V. Mohanial
sent rules of BATTLE CHESS which he is trying to sell to them.
(A trivial variation.)

To Felicia. She gave me an extra Schaper 1974 catalog (since I
don't believe I have one).
Denis Ladouceur was there. He had a puzzle - SQUARE ROOT. There
are 4 wood frames with notches on
[drawing of four overlapping diamonds] the two sides in different places.
It goes together in one plane as
shown in the diagram. When taken
apart the frames loop together so that
they can't be taken apart. (I figured
out the logic of it and solved it easily.)
I showed EVEN WORSE to Denis, but
he soon gave up.
Denis had his game ZIGGURAT (after the Babylonian temple).
The board is as shown. Each player has 6 pcs. which are
shallow boxes with one side missing. They are graduated in size
so that a set [illegible strikeout] can stack inside each other or, if put aro
in the other order, can pile on top of the other. 2 to 4 play,
and each player starts in the 3 spaces across from circle of
